For those who want more vehicles to play with in Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studios announced that it is giving away the Supply FRV completely for free for all players. After a massive launch back at the start of 2024, Helldivers 2 has certainly seen its fair share of ups and downs in the years since, though Arrowhead has plans to evolve the experience in new ways going forward.
Helldivers 2 has proven to be a big success following its February 2024 launch, and the game represents a big reason why Sony originally decided to go all in on live service games before the eventual U-turn. In addition to its popularity and release on other platforms, one of the big ways that Helldivers 2 has continued to generate money for both Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios is through Warbonds. These are premium content consisting of new armor, weapons, vehicles, and cosmetics players can purchase to expand the tools they have access to. On occasion, Arrowhead has also given away free gear as well, typically capes to mark a moment in-game, but this latest offer has something far more valuable.
Helldivers 2 Giving Players a Free Vehicle
In a new announcement, Arrowhead Game Studios reveals that the M-103 Supply Fast Recon Vehicle is being made available to all players starting in October. The M-103 is the third variant of Helldivers 2‘s light-armored recon vehicle. The FRV was originally added during the Omens of Tyranny update all the way back in December 2024, eventually followed by the M-102 which allowed up to 5 players to ride around.

The newest version of the FRV, the M-103, isn’t new to the game by any stretch. In fact, it was most recently a major plot point during the Census Thunder Campaign in June, acting as a stratagem players could use to fight the Voteless, an enemy type of the Illuminate faction in Helldivers 2. As it stands, that campaign was a success, which, according to the in-game story, has enabled mass production of the M-103 and allowing players to unlock it using Requisition Slips once it becomes available in October.
It’s also worth mentioning that some players may have already unlocked the M-103 Supply FRV by participating in the June campaign, though the successful nature of the event has opened it up for everyone, just with a small delay attached. Unlike the previous versions of the FRV, the M-103 version comes equipped with an automated turret as well as a supply rack worth up to 8 resupplies of ammo and equipment.
The M-103 reward is part of Arrowhead’s massive planned changes to Helldivers 2 in an attempt to make it more rewarding and feel more alive. In June, Arrowhead replaced its former Major Orders mechanic with Galactic War Campaigns that not only aim to better detail what’s at stake for the in-game universe, but offer more rewards for players to take part. Arrowhead is also working on a new rogue-lite system called Planet Warfronts for Helldivers 2 that are dynamic activities that take players through strategic locations on planets through multiple objective types like defending territory, joining a frontline war, and more.
