A brand-new LEGO Lord of the Rings set has just leaked, and it’s another gigantic collector’s piece. Rumored to depict the iconic location of Helm’s Deep, this upcoming 2027 LEGO Lord of the Rings set will reportedly contain a little over 8,000 pieces.

The very first wave of LEGO Lord of the Rings sets launched in 2012 to coincide with the theatrical release of the first Hobbit movie. LEGO continued making sets inspired by both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit until 2014, when the line was suddenly and mysteriously discontinued. After an almost decade-long hiatus, LEGO Lord of the Rings made a triumphant return in 2023 with the LEGO Icons Rivendell set, the first in a now long line of Lord of the Rings sets targeted at older audiences.

  • Release Date: June 2027
  • Price: Unknown

First discovered by Brickmerge and then posted to the r/Legoleak subreddit, a brand-new LEGO Lord of the Rings Helm’s Deep set could be in the works right now. According to this leak, this will be the next entry in LEGO’s Lord of the Rings Icons wave, following the Minas Tirith set released this June. This new Helm’s Deep LEGO set is currently rumored to contain 8,060 pieces and is reportedly set to release in June 2027. There’s no word on price just yet, but given the incredibly high piece-count and the license attached to the set, this new LEGO Helm’s Deep will likely cost upwards of $600. There’s also no information on what minifigures might be included in this set.

Who’s That Character?

Identify the silhouettes before time runs out.

If the information provided in this leak is accurate, then this Helm’s Deep set could end up being the second-largest Lord of the Rings LEGO set ever made, coming in just 218 pieces behind the goliath that is LEGO Minas Tirith. This would also make this set the ninth-largest LEGO set overall, beating out the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon’s 7,541 pieces.

Of course, a piece count of 8,060 would also make this the largest Helm’s Deep LEGO set by a country mile, with its 2012 playset predecessor containing a respectable 1,368 pieces. Although a LEGO Helm’s Deep set would make a lot of sense given LEGO’s trajectory with the Lord of the Rings license over the last few years, all rumors and leaks should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Aside from the smaller Balrog Book Nook and Sauron’s Helmet sets, the vast majority of LEGO’s Lord of the Rings Icons wave have been large sets geared towards adult collectors with access to plenty of disposable cash. Given the leaked information above, it seems that the rumored LEGO Helm’s Deep set will follow suit.
