Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 has just been given an official release date of August 25, 2026, meaning its launch is less than a month away. Like its predecessor, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be a co-op third-person shooter that will see players suit up as Colonial Marines and face off against countless waves of Xenomorphs.
Released in August 2021, Aliens: Fireteam Elite received very mixed reviews, at least initially. On OpenCritic, the first Aliens: Fireteam Elite has a Top Critic Average of 68, and a recommendation score of just 34%. GameRant’s own Joshua Duckworth scored Aliens: Fireteam Elite a 3/10 in his review, calling the co-op shooter “a bug-filled slog that proves to be a one-trick pony.” Despite this mixed critical reception, rumors of an Aliens: Fireteam Elite sequel surfaced in 2024, and in October 2025 the game received an official ESRB rating. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was finally announced in May 2026.

The first of these packs is Herk’s Mondo Pest Pack, which comes with a special Modified Pulse Rifle, some unique weapon color variants, 9 exclusive decals, and a skin, all of which are inspired by Herk Mondo, a deep-cut character who comes from the Aliens: Colonial Marines comic series first published by Dark Horse.
The second pack included in the Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 40th Anniversary Premium Edition is the Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack. As its name suggests, this cosmetic pack is inspired by Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley, and more specifically, the character’s appearance in 1986’s Aliens.
