New Official Bethesda Release Confirmed for August 11

New Official Bethesda Release Confirmed for August 11

The next release from Bethesda is locked in for August 11. The past decade has seen extremely long waits between Bethesda releases. There was four years between Skyrim and Fallout 4, but then there was eight years between that game and Starfield. Spin-offs like Fallout 76 and mobile projects like The Elder Scrolls Blades have been released in-between Bethesda’s major games to help fill in the gaps.

Bethesda has also committed itself to releasing remasters of its most popular games while fans wait for brand-new releases. Beyond the fact that Skyrim has been re-released countless times, Bethesda has also brought Fallout 4 to modern platforms. It was recently announced that both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are getting remasters as well, though release dates have yet to be announced at the time of this writing.

All Armor Sets In Oblivion Remastered

There are several light and heavy armor sets with various stats and enchantments in Oblivion Remastered, here’s a list of all of them.

Oblivion Remastered Switch 2 Release Date

The next Bethesda release is The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2. Oblivion Remastered was first shadow dropped last year to strong reviews and a positive reaction from fans. The game is nearly identical to the original Oblivion from a gameplay standpoint, bugs and all, but it features vastly improved graphics to better match modern standards. Oblivion Remastered is already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but the game will be making its Switch 2 debut on August 11. A port of a remaster isn’t always something to get excited about, but Oblivion Remastered‘s Switch 2 port is an exception.

Having a game the size and scope of Oblivion Remastered on the go is a big deal, and better yet, the full game is actually going to be available on the cartridge. Oblivion Remastered is not going to be a Game Key Card, like some may have expected, and that gives the physical release of the game significantly more value. In a day and age where physical media is being outright disrespected, it’s refreshing to see Bethesda go all-in on Oblivion Remastered by releasing the entire game on a Switch 2 cartridge.

Of course, the jury is still out on exactly how well Oblivion Remastered will perform on Switch 2. As some may recall, the Skyrim Switch 2 port had severe performance issues that weren’t present in the Switch 1 version of the game. Skyrim‘s Switch 2 problems were fixed in an update, but hopefully Bethesda will avoid having to do the same for Oblivion Remastered. Time will tell, but fans will find out when Oblivion Remastered releases for the Switch 2 on August 11.

Oblivion Remastered is one of many ports/remasters/re-releases/remakes hitting the Switch 2 in August 2026. Other new Switch 2 games releasing in August 2026 that fit the bill are Final Fantasy 14 on August 4, Lies of P: Complete Edition on August 6, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 on August 27, and finally, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on August 28. Those that have already played these games on other platforms may be underwhelmed by the lineup, but Switch 2 owners that are new to Oblivion Remastered and the other upcoming games are in for a treat.
