It’s never a bad time to be a Dragon Ball fan, but everything coming up makes it an especially good time, with new franchise content spanning through Spring 2027 now. Of course, one of the biggest Dragon Ball releases possible is coming well before then.
Beyond new content in the Spring, the Dragon Ball franchise has also revisited one of its biggest modern stories with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an enhanced remake of the original Dragon Ball Super anime. The new edition features newly added and redrawn scenes, completely re-rendered footage, updated sound effects and music, and a restructured story designed to follow Akira Toriyama’s original vision more closely.
New Dragon Ball Content Coming in Spring 2027
Now, Bandai Namco has officially revealed a new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero update planned for Spring 2027, headlined by Tower of Power (Team-up), an online mode supporting up to five players. Each participant will control one character, allowing groups to take on battles together instead of relying on the DBZ fighting game’s usual format. The announcement appeared on the official Dragon Ball website as part of the game’s upcoming content roadmap, confirming that the cooperative mode will arrive after another Tower of Power mode launches in Winter 2026.

The new Tower of Power (Team-up) mode takes inspiration from battles at Fortune Teller Baba’s Palace, giving players another way to experience Sparking ZERO with friends. Its five-player limit is the biggest detail revealed so far, opening the door for groups to bring different characters into the same challenge. Bandai Namco has not yet shared a specific release date or explained all the mode’s mechanics, so details such as its progression system and matchmaking remain unconfirmed.
Before that arrives, Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO will receive Tower of Power (Solo) in Winter 2026, so fans will know more about the multiplayer mode around then. This single-player mode will challenge players to climb floors filled with increasingly powerful enemies, with customization items available as rewards. The roadmap also outlines upgrades to Mission 100 and Survival Mode, which will become Mission 100 SP and Survival Mode SP following the introduction of the Limit Breaker Journey mode in the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC.
Importantly, Bandai Namco confirmed that the upcoming free updates will be available even to players who do not own the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC. The publisher has not announced an exact date for the Spring 2027 release, but the new content gives Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO players another substantial addition to look forward to.
