Fallout is getting a new PS5 release on September 15, when Fallout 76 launches its next-gen update alongside the release of Season 26, titled Beware the Blood Moon. This update for Fallout 76 will release simultaneously on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to improve the overall performance, stability, and visual fidelity for the game on those consoles.

Fallout 76’s Next-Gen Update for PS5, Xbox Series X/S Arrives September 15

An official announcement from Bethesda via Twitter revealed that the upcoming Beware the Blood Moon season for Fallout 76 will also debut the next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The announcement regarding this update reads:

“Along with this content, our Gen 9 boost that benefits players on XBOX Series S/X, PS5, and older consoles will arrive. All console players will enjoy better performance, stability, and visual fidelity. This upgrade also affords our team the opportunity to optimize each platform individually down the road.”

The Fallout 76 community manager also noted on the game’s official subreddit that there are still plans for a PTS test period of this next-gen update for consoles in the coming weeks before its launch. However, no specific date was given for this test period.
