Prior to the launch of Mega Man: Dual Override, a brand-new release will arrive before 2026’s end, with a pair of skins based on the series coming to Pragmata. The move, which was showcased alongside gameplay of Mega Man: Dual Override, is an amusing one, as many gamers initially believed that Pragmata would be tied to the Mega Man universe prior to its release.

By the time Mega Man: Dual Override releases, it will have been nearly a full decade between games launching in the franchise. Mega Man 11 performed well for Capcom, but players have been left waiting for more for quite some time, as that game came out back in 2018. However, that wait will come to an end very soon.

Mega Man Pragmata Skins and Mega Man: Dual Override Gameplay Revealed

Gamescom got a look at the new Mega Man skins coming to Pragmata in 2026, as well as a peek at the upcoming Mega Man: Dual Override game. The pair of Pragmata skins turn Hugh into Mega Man himself, while Diana gets an outfit inspired by Roll. The skins are “coming soon,” with only a 2026 release revealed at this time. Meanwhile, Mega Man: Dual Override gave a new look at gameplay, which showed some unique abilities for Mega Man, like hovering and phasing through opponents.

The new Mega Man: Dual Override trailer has also showcased a number of new features, a returning face, and a new character. Proto Man will be joining Mega Man in his fight this time around as a fully playable character. Mega Man and Proto Man will have differences in their abilities, providing for some freedom in how players approach the game. The two’s unique abilities will likely come in clutch while dealing with the title’s new Robot Masters, of which the first of eight, Twinkle Girl, has been revealed. The differences between Mega Man and Proto Man’s abilities will likely be further exemplified with Mega Man: Dual Override‘s new upgrade systems.

Players will be able to improve and customize Mega Man and Proto Man’s abilities with Custom Chips, and can use temporary extreme power-ups with a new Override system. The Custom Chip system will let players enhance both playable characters with new abilities, including things like rapid-fire, shield bubbles, and the aforementioned hovering. Chips can be mixed and matched depending on what best suits the player’s needs. Further, the Override system lets players temporarily boost Mega Man and Proto Man past their normal limits. However, after the power boost wears off, they’ll experience a temporary dip in performance, so timing is critical.

While Pragmata turned out to have no real connection to Mega Man after all, the new skins are a neat way of giving a nod to one of Capcom’s most influential franchises and players’ early suspicions about the game. Though there’s been a long drought between new entries in the Mega Man franchise, players will finally be able to get to enjoy more of the classic platforming series, with the Pragmata skins effectively acting as an appetizer prior to the release of Mega Man: Dual Override in 2027.
