Pokemon‘s Delta Reign expansion offers an array of both competitively viable cards and stunning special versions for fans to acquire. Mega Rayquaza ex was already seeing play following its release in Japan’s Storm Emeralda set, allowing players to quickly attach multiple Energies per turn to their Pokemon. The expansion introduces three unique pairs of double Stadium cards that must be played together, which offer different effects depending on how the cards are oriented. Delta Reign includes six Special Illustration Rare cards and a Mega Hyper Rare version of Mega Rayquaza ex as some of its biggest chase cards.
The Pokemon TCG is giving fans even more to look forward to from Delta Reign aside from its assortment of cards. The Pokemon Company officially revealed the new Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection ahead of the set’s debut, featuring a stunning premium deck box and sleeves from Dragon Shield. The Tournament Collection also includes an exclusive Rayquaza promo card not featured in the main set of Delta Reign, containing a special full-art version of Mega Rayquaza ex. The Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection is scheduled to release on February 12, 2027.
Delta Reign’s launch marks the Pokemon TCG‘s final big release of 2026 as the game begins to look ahead to 2027. The Pokemon Company has already confirmed the first new expansion arriving to the Pokemon TCG in 2027, confirming that Flowing Fists will release on February 5 with Mega Lucario Z as its spotlight Pokemon. The trading card game will debut a brand-new type of card in 2027 as well, confirming the introduction of ex Star cards during the 2026 PokemonXP convention. Pokemon looks to cap off a successful 2026 with even more exciting releases on the way for the next year.
