New Official Resident Evil Release Confirmed for July 30

New Official Resident Evil Release Confirmed for July 30

Resident Evil fans have a brand-new official release to look forward to on Thursday, July 30. The Resident Evil franchise has been on a ridiculous hot streak for nearly a decade. While Capcom definitely misstepped with Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7 got things back on track and it’s been nothing but bangers ever since when it comes to main series entries.

The latest main series Resident Evil game is Resident Evil Requiem, which launched earlier this year to rave reviews. Resident Evil Requiem reviews praised the game for expertly blending the slow-burn, first-person horror of RE7 with the explosive third-person action of games like Resident Evil 4. Requiem is one of the highest-rated new game releases of 2026 so far, and it’s readily available across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and even the Nintendo Switch 2.

Resident Evil Requiem‘s Switch 2 port is especially interesting because it will soon be getting its own set of amiibo figures. Capcom has confirmed that the previously-announced Grace and Leon amiibo figures will be available on Thursday, July 30, with pre-orders live now. Scanning the amiibo figures will net players special weapon skins to use in the game, like the Neon skin for Grace’s S&S M232, and a unique look for the titular Requiem magnum. The Resident Evil Requiem amiibo figures cost $29.99 each, but for hardcore fans of the franchise, they may very well be worth it.

The amiibo figures are highly-detailed, featuring Grace with her jacket and backpack and Leon wielding his trusty hatchet. The figures are likely going to be hard to come by, and in fact have already sold out at retailers like GameStop, and so fans should keep that in mind. The skins that they add to Resident Evil Requiem are unlikely to give anyone too much FOMO, but the figures are cool as collector’s items by themselves.

As far as more substantial content goes, we do know that a Resident Evil Requiem story expansion is on the way. What we don’t know is what form it will take or when it will be available. While some believed that the Resident Evil Requiem story DLC would be out by the end of the year, recent leaks and rumors have suggested it may launch after 2027’s Resident Evil Veronica. Resident Evil Veronica is pegged for an early 2027 release, so that means fans may be waiting quite a long time for Resident Evil Requiem story DLC.

Whenever the Resident Evil Requiem story DLC comes out, it will be interesting to see what exactly it brings to the table. Ultimately, it will be one of many exciting upcoming Resident Evil projects, so even if it’s underwhelming, fans won’t have to wait long for a new main series entry. Resident Evil Veronica is the only one confirmed right now, but reputable leakers have claimed that a Resident Evil Zero remake is on the way, along with Resident Evil 10. It’s also been suggested that a second Resident Evil 1 remake is in the works, too, but again, none of these projects have been officially announced by Capcom at the time of this writing.
