For those unfamiliar, Mr. Nutz is a classic 2D platformer that’s seen as one of the pioneers of the genre in many ways. As reported by Time Extension, the cult-favorite 2D action platformer First Samurai will be receiving a physical re-release. The editions and prices haven’t been revealed as of this writing, and the only thing confirmed by the publisher is that the game is coming at “the start of 2027.” The company behind this new release is 33 Games, which has previously re-released classic Amiga games like Zool and Utopia: The Creation of a Nation on the SNES and Sega Mega Drive.

First Samurai was also initially released on the Amiga before being ported to other platforms, including the SNES, following its popularity. The SNES version is particularly famous for its changes to the level design, with many considering it the more polished edition of the original game. In First Samurai, players take on the role of a warrior on a quest to avenge his murdered master.
