Things are heating up for The Witcher fans, who have a lot to look forward to over the next few years. With an upcoming expansion for The Witcher 3 and a fourth mainline expansion on the horizon, fans can ask for little more from CD Projekt RED. However, another exciting new Witcher release has been confirmed for Summer 2027, and it may fly under the radar for many.
It’s been a good few weeks for The Witcher fans. In late August at Gamescom Opening Night Live, CD Projekt RED officially confirmed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, which is set to launch on September 29 and give the 2015 RPG a fresh coat of paint. The developer has major plans for the franchise over the next few years, and with the upcoming remaster, there’s no better time to jump back in.
The Witcher: Legacy Officially Coming in Summer 2027
Over on Gamefound, The Witcher: Legacy, a new board game from Go On Board, has officially earned over €12 million in pledges from over 32,000 backers. The upcoming TTRPG has been confirmed for a Summer 2027 release, giving fans something exciting to look forward to while they wait for The Witcher 4 to release. It has nine versions available to pre-order right now, the cheapest being €109. The most expensive, titled “I want it all!” features all the expansions and visual add-ons, coming in at a whopping €480. The synopsis for the board game is as follows:

The game is described as “the most epic of narrative Witcher adventures,” intended for 1-4 players in 120-240-minute sessions. However, it boasts 48+ hours of main-story gameplay, but Go On Board suggests it will take over 100 hours to uncover all its stories. This is thanks to its non-linear campaign, which lets each playthrough follow a different path. It also has an Endgame Mode that “brings a dynamic sandbox environment with evolving challenges, ensuring the adventure never stops.”
The Witcher: Legacy is actually the third board game in the franchise from Go On Board, after 2023’s Old World and 2025’s Path of Destiny. Both were well received by fans, which is why The Witcher: Legacy has secured such a large number of backers before its release. Being tied to such a popular open-world RPG franchise helps, of course, but there’s definitely a significant fan base built into Go On Board’s efforts at this point.
Even beyond The Witcher: Legacy, fans of the franchise are in for an exciting few years. Following the remastered Witcher 3 this year, fans also have the new Songs of the Past DLC arriving in 2027, 12 years after the game’s initial launch. There’s also The Witcher 4, which doesn’t yet have a release date but will see Ciri take the reins as the series’ protagonist for the first time. That’s before mentioning the remake of The Witcher 1, which was announced in 2022 but has had little word from CD Projekt RED since.
