The Legend of Zelda fans have a new release to look forward to on Thursday, September 17. The Legend of Zelda is currently in the midst of celebrating its 40th anniversary, with Nintendo recently celebrating by hosting a special Nintendo Direct dedicated to the franchise.
The Zelda Nintendo Direct confirmed that fans will be treated to more concerts in the future, and that the upcoming film based on the series will simply be titled The Legend of Zelda with no subtitle. The Direct also unveiled a line of new Zelda-themed hardware and accessories, including a Switch 2 console, a Switch 2 Pro Controller, a carrying case, and more. The bulk of the Direct was dedicated to the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, with pre-orders for all these items going live shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, most of these items (minus the game itself) quickly sold out, and they aren’t the only upcoming Zelda release that burned through their pre-orders in short order.
When is the Zelda: Mineru’s Construct Amiibo Coming Out?
A new Zelda series amiibo is set to launch on September 17, with the $34.99 Mineru’s Construct amiibo based on 2023’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The amiibo may very well be available to purchase in-person at various retailers on September 17, but those hoping to pre-order are out of luck. The Mineru’s Construct amiibo pre-orders are sold out, and while language on the Nintendo site suggests that the figure will be restocked, it’s hard to say when exactly that might happen. In any case, Zelda fans that want the Mineru’s Construct amiibo can start hunting for it once it launches properly on Thursday, September 17.
With the Mineru’s Construct amiibo based on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it’s no surprise that TOTK is where its most interesting feature comes into play. Using the Mineru’s Construct amiibo in the game gets players a special fabric for Link’s paraglider in Tears of the Kingdom, along with random helpful items. Players will also get random items when using the amiibo in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well, but there are no special paragliders in those games.
The Mineru’s Construct amiibo isn’t the only upcoming Zelda series amiibo. At the aforementioned Zelda Direct, two new amiibo were revealed in the form of Young Link and Young Zelda. These amiibo figures are based on how the characters appear in the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, meaning they sport their redesigned looks. These amiibo figures are also sold out, unfortunately. But like with the Mineru’s Construct amiibo, them being sold out doesn’t mean fans won’t get another chance to add the figures to their collection.
September 17 is shaping up to be a busy day for Nintendo fans in general. Besides the Mineru’s Construct amiibo launching, September 17 is also the day that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave releases for the Switch 2. Fortune’s Weave may not be a Zelda game, but it’s still one of the biggest upcoming Nintendo releases of the year.
