The publisher of a recently released open-world co-op game on PlayStation 5 celebrates a massive milestone for the game, teeing up fans who are still playing it to share the game with others. After all, one major part of any co-op game formula is how it interacts with its various players, and this new open-world co-op PS5 game supports up to 12 players.
That’s impressive, but size isn’t everything when it comes to co-op. It’s what developer House House and publisher Panic have done with the 12-player co-op game that has made it resonate so well with PS5 players (as well as PC and Nintendo Switch 2 players), putting it on a competitive level whether 12 people play or just 2. Big Walk publisher Panic has announced that one million people have “bought” the new open-world co-op game across all platforms, with the language suggesting that this does not count downloads via PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Panic does not clarify and theoretically it could, but it sounds like it’s a separate metric. Regardless, it bodes well for Big Walk‘s future to see it cross one million purchases in just six days. And right now, it’s worth highlighting that Big Walk is still available as one of the PS Plus Essential games for August 2026 (alongside Dying Light 2 and Signalis), where it can be claimed and downloaded until August 31, 2026, at no additional cost outside the subscription.
What these numbers mean, on the assumption that it is separate from PS Plus numbers, is that PC and Switch 2 players likely showed up for the game, but it almost certainly had sales on the PS5 console outside the PS Plus subscription. It’s impossible to know every single sale and how it all breaks down, but the developer and publisher are both pretty happy.

For those unfamiliar, Big Walk has been developed by the same team behind Untitled Goose Game as an open-world co-op puzzle game that supports up to 12 players (as aforementioned). The focus is entirely on communication, puzzles, talking, walking, and messing with friends. The charm comes in how players can wander off from each other in completely different directions, adding that touch of chaos that all good co-op games need.
It’ll be interesting to see where Big Walk lands within the next month, as well as how sales go throughout the rest of the year, but given that Big Walk‘s reviews have hit universal acclaim on Metacritic, it seems fair to say it’s a must-play for any fan of the genre.
