New Open-World Simulation Game on Steam Launches to 80% Very Positive Reviews

Car Parking Multiplayer 2, also known as CPM 2, launched on Steam on October 8 and has since earned about 80% positive reviews from nearly 1,500 user ratings. What makes Car Parking Multiplayer 2 a particularly interesting Steam release is that it is completely free to play.

CPM 2 has long been one of the most popular open-world car simulation games on mobile. On the Google Play Store, it has over ten million downloads and an average user score of 4 out of 5 from more than 200,000 reviews. The game has also performed well on the App Store, where it holds an average user score of 4.4 out of 5. Building on its success on mobile, developer OGames has now brought CPM 2 to PC, giving Steam users a chance to try it out as well.

New Open-World Co-Op RPG on Steam Releases to 80% Very Positive Reviews

A brand-new co-op game with RPG elements and base-building in an open world is out now and has earned great reviews on Steam.

CPM 2 Reaches an Impressive Player Count Milestone

According to the latest SteamDB data at the time of writing, CPM 2 peaked at over 14,000 concurrent players on Steam shortly after launch. That figure might not seem particularly surprising for a multiplayer open-world sim. However, fans should note that CPM 2 is a mobile game ported to PC, which is relatively uncommon in its own right. Games that make the jump from mobile to PC often struggle to appeal to a new audience. CPM 2, however, has clearly been an exception.

What to Expect from CPM 2’s Gameplay

Players enter an open-world map where they can take part in races and other driving activities. They can also buy and trade car liveries with other players. However, one of CPM 2‘s most popular features is its car customization system. Players can modify a car’s engine and exterior to improve its performance and appearance. They can also organize car meets in-game or create their own activities and competitions.

Another interesting feature is CPM 2’s in-depth recording tools, which allow players to capture professional-quality screenshots and videos.

As a driving simulation game, CPM 2 also offers a realistic driving experience, with options to drive cars using both automatic and manual transmission. The game also supports steering wheels, though some players report that the feature needs a patch to address its rough edges. Another interesting feature is CPM 2‘s in-depth recording tools, which allow players to capture professional-quality screenshots and videos. There are even specific emotes for player characters that let them pose for this type of user-generated content.

While the early reception of CPM 2 on Steam has been incredibly positive, new users should remember that the game is still in early access. Developer OGames wants to keep it in this state for about one to two years to ensure its PC performance is stable. That said, since CPM 2 is among free-to-play Steam games, there should be little to no risk to stop fans of the genre from checking it out.

Players who download CPM 2 on both mobile and Steam and link their accounts can claim a free sports car called the Lancia 037, which is quite popular among veteran players.
