Fans of the entire Persona franchise will be excited to know what Atlus is doing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series. Initially launching on the original PlayStation, Revelations: Persona came out on September 20, 1996, which means the countdown to the Persona anniversary is well on its way.
The Persona franchise as a whole has had no shortage of activity in recent years, even if players waiting for Persona 6 have been left wanting. Though no new reveals have been made regarding Persona 6, in the meantime, the franchise has seen a remake of Persona 3, several spin-offs of Persona 5, including the mobile and PC game Persona 5: The Phantom X, and the promise of a Persona 4 remake, as well.
Persona 6 Gets Encouraging Update
While it didn’t make an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase, Persona 6 gets an encouraging update from P-Studio.
Persona Series Gears Up for 30th Anniversary
Now, Atlus is taking some of the first steps to highlight what’s coming next for the Persona series by opening a new website dedicated to the franchise’s anniversary. Currently, the website is limited to a flashy landing page with a new piece of artwork featuring every protagonist from the Persona franchise. However, Atlus has already teased when players can expect the next details regarding the anniversary, as the website’s next update will land on January 8, 2026.
What’s on the Horizon for the Persona Series?
Given that this is a major milestone for the series, it’s highly likely that at least some of the updates the website hosts will revolve around merchandise commemorating the occasion. There may also be in-person events to look forward to, such as concerts celebrating the music of Persona, or the return of Persona-themed cafes in Japan. But of course, the biggest element that most fans will be hoping to hear about is game development news.
Persona 5: The Phantom X
As the mobile game Persona 5: The Phantom X is ongoing, and will celebrate the first anniversary of its worldwide release in 2026, it’s likely that it will be highlighted on the website. It’s also all but sure that Persona 5: The Phantom X will host at least one event for the anniversary, which may be revealed on the site.
Persona 4 Revival
Given that Persona 4 Revival was only announced in mid-2025, it’s not likely that the game will actually launch in 2026. However, it’s not out of the question for Atlus to release a teaser trailer or a development update giving players an idea of when they can expect it to release.
Persona 6
The majority of fans will be hoping to learn something about Persona 6, which remains a no-show at this point. Players have speculated for years that Atlus would surely reveal something during specific events and shows, only to be let down, so they may not want to get their hopes up now. However, there’s a few reasons to think that this time might be different. Atlus and publisher Sega are well aware of the demand for Persona 6, and revealing it on the series’ major anniversary would only be appropriate. Additionally, recent leaks have indicated that Persona 6‘s development may be further along than initially thought, lending further credence to the idea. With that said, any Persona 6 announcements are unlikely to be limited to the website.
Spin-Offs and Crossovers
While nothing solid has been announced, it’s not out of the question for new spin-off games to be in the works at Atlus. If so, they could potentially be revealed this year. Additionally, the Persona series has crossed over with other games multiple times in 2025 alone, with Overwatch, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Wuthering Waves all featuring characters or themed cosmetics, so future crossovers could be on their way.
For the moment, fans will have to wait to learn more about what Atlus has in store for Persona in 2026 and beyond, but it’s likely that it has some exciting surprises in store.
