Phantom Blade Zero will come to PlayStation and PC later than expected after being delayed to October 29, 2026. While the delay is relatively small, it moves the upcoming PlayStation console exclusive closer to Grand Theft Auto 6 at a time when many other releases are trying to avoid Rockstar’s launch window.

Phantom Blade Zero was originally announced during the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase. Developed by Beijing-based studio S-GAME, the upcoming game is an action RPG rooted in wuxia, a fiction genre centered on martial artist adventures across ancient China. In December 2025, S-GAME announced that its latest title would launch on September 9, 2026.

Phantom Blade Zero Delayed for Polishing

Two years following its original announcement, Phantom Blade Zero was featured in the June 2026 PlayStation State of Play showcase, which included a new teaser for the game. The 65-second video showcased several action-packed combat sequences and promised more details to follow this summer. Separately, S-GAME announced that the game had been delayed to October 29, 2026. CEO and game director Liang “Soulframe” Qiwei cited extra polish as the main reason for the 50-day postponement. While the action RPG has been in the polishing phase for some time, Liang said he had identified one last opportunity for the project to “make another meaningful leap forward” during that process. Taking advantage of it, however, meant approving the newly confirmed delay.
