PlayStation Plus subscribers signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers of the service already know of one new game that they can look forward to later this month. Normally, all the new PlayStation Plus games added to the Extra and Premium tiers are added on the same day. However, there have been some exceptions to the rule over the years.
Typically, Sony announces the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games on a Wednesday, with the June 2026 games set to be revealed on Wednesday, June 10. The games are then added the following Tuesday, meaning the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for June 2026 will almost certainly make their debut on Tuesday, June 16. That same day, some games will leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium library as well. Subscribers can expect all of this to happen as normal this month, but they will also have access to a bonus game a bit earlier, making its debut on June 9 instead.
Every New Game Added To PS Plus (June 2026)
New monthly PlayStation Plus games! Sony is always adding goodies to its subscription. The June 2026 PS Plus Essential games have been revealed.
It was announced ahead of time that Destiny 2: Legacy Collection is coming to PlayStation Plus Extra on Tuesday, June 9. Destiny 2: Legacy Collection includes The Final Shape, Lightfall, Witch Queen, Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and Forsaken expansions, along with the 30th Anniversary Pack, and Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne, and Grasp of Avarice dungeons. It’s not the full Destiny 2 experience, however. Destiny 2‘s earliest content was vaulted years ago and is unlikely to ever return, and the last two expansions, Edge of Fate and Renegades, must be purchased separately at $40 apiece.

Destiny 2: Legacy Collection is coming to PS Plus Extra at a dark time for the game. It was recently announced that Destiny 2‘s live-service support is ending after the big Moment of Triumph update, meaning no more content or significant updates for the game after that point. Destiny 2 servers will remain online, but fans of the game will have nothing substantial to look forward to, and one has to imagine that the player count will continue dwindling as a result.
Destiny 2 developer Bungie is focused on Marathon, its new extraction shooter, but that also hasn’t exactly been drawing big player numbers. Disgruntled Destiny fans have started petitions asking for a Destiny 3 in light of Destiny 2 support ending, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen, at least not any time soon.

Perhaps Destiny 2 joining the PS Plus Extra lineup will give the live-service shooter a shot in the arm, especially since it is coinciding with the final big update. If nothing else, it will ensure that more PlayStation gamers will have access to Destiny 2 and some of its biggest expansions without actually having to buy the game or DLC. Maybe these individuals will enjoy themselves enough to buy Destiny 2‘s remaining paid expansions in Edge of Fate and Renegades, but that remains to be seen. So while June 9 marks a sad day for Destiny 2 fans, it should be an exciting one for PS Plus Extra subscribers, as they are about to be treated to a massive game with enough content to keep them busy for potentially hundreds of hours.
