PlayStation Plus subscribers to either the Extra and/or Premium tiers now know what will join the available catalogs on June 16. As PS Plus subscribers should know, these tiers are typically announced after the release of the free PS Plus monthly games/the Essential tier (Grounded, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Warhammer 40K: Darktide) and added on a Tuesday mid-month (June 16, in this case).
It’s worth noting that two of this month’s PS Plus Extra and Premium games were already confirmed ahead of time. PS Plus Extra recently added Destiny 2: Legacy Collection, a little early on June 9, and it includes all the major expansions, dungeons, and more. It’s not everything that’s in Destiny 2, but it’s a sizeable chunk of the game. Meanwhile, the recent State of Play confirmed that Gitaroo Man would join PS Plus Premium on June 16. For unfamiliar PS Plus subscribers, Gitaroo Man is a rhythm game where players step into the shoes of U-1, who transforms from a shy kid into a legendary rock god to save the universe.

Now, the full list of PS Plus Extra games for June 2026 has been revealed by the PlayStation Blog, and they include Final Fantasy 16, Sonic X Shadow Generations, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, Farming Simulator 25, Blades of Fire, and Black Desert. It should surprise no one, given how rarely that PS Plus Premium is updated, that Gitaroo Man is the only new PS Plus Premium addition this month.

Most of these games have external reasons for their addition, rather clearly. Final Fantasy 16 is a good choice as a headliner in any month, sure, but Sonic could get fans in the mood for the new Sonic Frontiers edition, Kingdom Come comes at a time where the sequel is popular and the dev is working on an open-world Lord of the Rings game, and Life is Strange: Double Exposure just got a direct sequel. Plus, Crimson Desert is one of the biggest releases of the year, and Black Desert is part of that overall franchise.
It’s a solid list for June 16, but one of the biggest strengths of PS Plus is the constant carousel of new game additions. If none of these really scratch your particular gaming itch, then the free PS Plus monthly games for July will be revealed on July 1 and added on July 7 (because of the way the Tuesday/Wednesday cycle works). It’s worth noting that Sony has already confirmed Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy for PS Plus Premium in July, which is a 2004 action-adventure game with plenty of ragdoll chaos as players stop a terrorist movement.
Beyond that, Sony has also confirmed that Big Walk will join PS Plus Essential on August 4, that Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams will join PS Plus Premium in August, and that Runescape: Dragonwilds will join PS Plus Extra on September 15. In other words, it’s an incredibly busy time for PS Plus subscribers, and there are many more announcements on the way.
