Announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live, 1001 Threads of Mizan is an upcoming co-op fantasy game that looks like a fusion of God of War‘s gameplay and Aladdin‘s lore. Though the God of War-like doesn’t have a release date just yet, it’ll be coming to PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 when it does eventually arrive.
1001 Threads of Mizan Is a New Co-Op Fantasy Game Heading to PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2
Unveiled via a two-minute trailer, 1001 Threads of Mizan is a brand-new 1-3 player co-op action-adventure game that takes heavy inspiration from the famous collection of classic poems, One Thousand and One Nights. Brought together over the course of several centuries and by writers and poets from across Asia and Africa, One Thousand and One Nights tells an assortment of stories, many of which are set in a fantasy version of Arabia. Some of the most popular tales from One Thousand and One Nights in the Western world are Sinbad, Aladdin, and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, though the Sinbad tale existed outside the collection, and the latter two were actually added by a French translator in the 1700s.
Either by themselves or alongside two online allies, players will select one of three heroes, each with a distinct ability set. Once their hero is chosen, 1001 Threads of Mizan will then thrust players into a vibrant fantasy world where they must aid the legendary storyweaver Shahrazad as she tries to protect humanity from an army of jinn.
Though 1001 Threads of Mizan‘s reveal trailer didn’t show any actual gameplay footage, the co-op action-adventure game sounds like it’ll take inspiration from large-scale, epic titles like God of War, with players being frequently put against colossal jinn enemies that tower above them. To best these gigantic foes, players must use their flying carpet to “soar, dive, and strike in fluid motion.”
