A new game called Yet Another Zombie Survivors launched on Steam on August 20 and quickly received over 90% positive reviews from players. In terms of gameplay, Yet Another Zombie Survivors has a lot in common with Vampire Survivors, though it features distinct 3D visuals and plenty of unique gimmicks that fans of zombie survival games one Steam will appreciate.
Yet Another Zombie Survivors is developed by Awesome Games Studio, which released a similar title back in 2017 called Yet Another Zombie Defense HD. As the title suggests, that game leaned into the tower-defense genre, dividing the gameplay into two segments: building a tower and defending it against zombies. The studio’s latest release, however, is more of a roguelite and bullet-heaven-style game.

Awesome Games Studio launched the 1.0 version of Yet Another Zombie Survivors on August 20, and it has received over 91% positive reviews from players. The game has been among Steam’s early-access indie games since 2023 and has maintained a high user rating for most of its lifespan. Apparently, many players are also returning to the game following the 1.0 patch, with SteamDB data suggesting that Yet Another Zombie Survivors reached a new concurrent player record. On August 23, nearly 10,000 users were playing it at the same time, which is impressive for a single-player title.

Part of Yet Another Zombie Survivors‘ appeal lies in its addictive gameplay loop. Similar to most games inspired by Vampire Survivors, YAZS allows players to craft game-breaking builds. In the middle of each battle, players can recruit up to two more characters, creating a three-person squad.
