The release date of the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Racer has been leaked, courtesy of an early Steam listing for the game’s Deluxe Edition. If the leak proves true, it seems that gamers will be able to get their hands on Star Wars: Galactic Racer on October 6, 2026.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the first racing game set in a galaxy far, far away in over two decades. The last was Star Wars Racer Revenge, which launched all the way back in 2002. The initial reveal of Star Wars: Galactic Racer at The Game Awards 2025 came as a surprise, but its storyline involving players taking part in an illegal Outer Rim podracing circuit named The Galactic League instantly had fans curious about the project. Developer Fuse Games is bringing high-octane podracing to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S later this year, with its release date now seemingly locked in for October.

Thirty years ago, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire introduced Dash Rendar and a big new story, but somehow, it never got the sequel it deserved.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer Leak Reveals October 6, 2026 Release Date
As spotted by Wario64 on X, a Steam listing for Star Wars: Galactic Racer‘s Deluxe Edition went live early, revealing that the game is set to launch on October 6, 2026. It’s not clear when the graphic was created, so plans may have changed since then, but it certainly seems that Fuse Games’ in-development Star Wars title is to launch later this year. The graphic has since been removed, but eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice it before it was taken down.
The listing also gave an early look at the contents of Star Wars: Galactic Racer‘s Deluxe Edition, which will feature exclusive podracers and Arcade Events. There will be a digital art book, as well as a unique livery and player banner. Those who purchase the Deluxe Edition in physical form will also receive a steelbook. While there’s plenty for fans to get excited about here, it’s worth reiterating that, as with any leak, it should be taken with a grain of salt until officially confirmed by Fuse Games.

Galactic Racer is just one of many Star Wars titles in development at the moment. It feels as though the franchise is making a big gaming comeback of late, with tons for fans to look forward to. Star Wars Zero Company is also expected to release in 2026, combining XCOM-style turn-based combat with traditional Star Wars storytelling. It’s cool to see the franchise taking a chance on different genres. Given its wide appeal and limitless setting, there is plenty of untapped potential in the realm of Star Wars video games, and hopefully, games like Galactic Racer and Zero Company will be the start of great things to come.

Looking beyond this year, the slate of upcoming projects broadens. There are currently two Old Republic-era games in development: Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic and the long-awaited KOTOR remake. Then there’s Respawn’s third Star Wars Jedi title, as well as Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dream. In recent years, Star Wars has developed a nasty habit of canceling projects across different media before they can properly get off the ground, and the hope is that the current slate of titles in the works can avoid that fate.
