Very few people can deny that there is just something weirdly entertaining about being a menace for no reason. Maybe it’s because nobody can afford to do something like this in real life, but in video games like My Arms Are Longer Now, you can annoy innocent people as much as you want to, steal their belongings, and generally cause all kinds of trouble. Untitled Goose Game is probably one of the best examples of a game that allows players to do such things.

The entire premise revolves around being a mischievous goose whose main purpose is to create chaos. However, it seems like My Arms Are Longer Now is experimenting with a similar idea and taking it to a completely new level. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game is scheduled to launch on March 11, 2027, and it replaces the fan-favorite goose with a thief who has an absurdly long, extendable arm that players should use to cause trouble and steal practically anything that they can get their hands on. Pun definitely intended.

Stealing Everything in Sight Has Never Been This Entertaining

Maybe what makes Untitled Goose Game so awesome is that players can just steal other people’s belongings without having any reason to do it. However, this is where My Arms Are Longer Now is different, because stealing is not just something players can do to annoy people, but it’s actually the main objective, so being a terrible neighbor is not just a hobby anymore; it’s actually something that the game requires you to do if you want to progress. Moreover, the game isn’t very concerned with what players decide to steal; anything will do. There is money, watches, bicycles, and even people’s pets.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

In other words, even though something may not look like traditional loot, it doesn’t mean you can’t steal it. Which, when you think about it, is also true in real life. Without a doubt, stealing is not the world’s most original concept in video games because there are many other titles that include this concept one way or another. However, in the case of My Arms Are Longer Now, players have no sophisticated gadgets or any special abilities; just their good ol’ ridiculously long arm. However, keep in mind that players can extend their arms through ventilation shafts and underneath seats to reach objects that are difficult to access. Furthermore, the arm can also retract like the cable of a vacuum cleaner.

This is where My Arms Are Longer Now is different, because stealing is not just something players can do to annoy people, but it’s actually the main objective…

And although stealing everything in sight does sound pretty simple, especially when there are almost no limits when it comes to what you can steal, it’s important to mention that people will not be very happy to have their belongings stolen. My Arms Are Longer Now also features security guards and security systems, so players will actually be required to think about how they can avoid getting caught. Moreover, it’s important to make sure that nobody figures out where the ridiculously long arm is coming from, which is probably as difficult as it sounds when you consider how long the limb is.

Another point worth mentioning is that players can even put a sock over their hand to fool a lonely security guard. And yes, it may sound dumb, but this is exactly the kind of nonsense that fits perfectly into this game and could actually be extremely entertaining. Last but not least, according to the game’s official Steam page, the game will also feature a hard-boiled detective who is going to follow players closely and who, of course, happens to be just one week away from retirement. It’s just funny to think about how nobody wants to spend their final days on the job chasing a criminal whose arm stretches for miles.

Sometimes, the Goofiest Ideas Make the Best Games

Ultimately, Untitled Goose Game has already demonstrated that not every title needs to have this complicated, long story or a hero that saves everyone. It seems like annoying people can also be enough to create a memorable experience that players will always remember with laughter. And even though My Arms Are Longer Now shares the same mischievous spirit with Untitled Goose Game, it also has its own unusual identity, which is always a good thing. Moreover, the upcoming title is a great example of taking something as ordinary as reaching for an object and pushing it to the extreme to create comedy.

So many people love this type of comedy; its humor comes from what players will actually do with the tools they’re given and the environment, and it’s not so much about relying on scripted jokes. In any case, whether the finished experience will be as entertaining as most people expect still remains to be seen. But if nothing else, it is certainly refreshing to see people embracing such goofy ideas.
