The newest Xbox console comes with a special perk for fans willing to pay the high price tag, including a digital copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved as a pack-in with the Xbox Series X25. Xbox’s highly anticipated remake of the original Halo game officially launched in late July.
2026 has been a big year for Xbox, both with changes at the top and a plethora of high-profile new releases. In February 2026, both Xbox CEO Phil Spencer and President Sarah Bond stepped down from their positions with the company, with Asha Sharma taking the reins as the company’s new CEO. Microsoft’s first-party franchises have been a major focus for the company throughout the year, including new releases like Forza Horizon 6 and Halo: Campaign Evolved, as well as the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. Now, a brand-new console celebrating Microsoft’s 25th anniversary is including one of Xbox’s biggest releases of the year.
New Xbox Console Gives Fans Halo: Campaign Evolved for Free
Fans picking up the translucent green Xbox Series X25 will get a special bonus from a classic Microsoft franchise. The anniversary edition of the Xbox Series X will include a digital code for the full game of Halo: Campaign Evolved with the console, giving out one of Microsoft’s hottest releases for free. The console also comes packed with an exclusive controller designed after the original Xbox, both branded with Xbox’s 25th anniversary logo. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X25 is available to pre-order now, with fans being asked to shell out $900 for the anniversary console.
Put the consoles in the correct order.
Halo: Campaign Evolved‘s launch was noteworthy for more than one reason, marking some major milestones for the franchise. The Halo remake celebrates the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Halo game, which propelled the franchise into becoming Microsoft’s flagship series and one of gaming’s most recognizable brands. Halo: Campaign Evolved also marked the first time a Halo game was released on a PlayStation console, launching on the PlayStation 5 alongside its Xbox and PC release.
While the inclusion of Halo: Campaign Evolved will be a nice perk, Xbox’s new console boasts a steep price tag for fans looking to pick up the exclusive console. The Xbox Series X25’s release date is officially scheduled for November 27, with the launch price of $899.99 sitting at $100 more than the 1 TB model of the Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X25 is expected to be available in short supply, billed as a limited-edition console, and buyers are restricted to only one console per customer. Pre-orders went live for select “dedicated Xbox fans” on August 26, with pre-orders opening to all players on August 27.
Xbox fans should have lots to look forward to from the console throughout the rest of the year and into 2027. Alongside the previously-mentioned Gears of War: E-Day, Xbox is preparing to debut the long-awaited reboot of Fable in February, reimagining the beloved first-party RPG series. One of the biggest new releases in gaming is also scheduled to launch during the holiday season of 2026, with Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled to release in November and has already generating billions in pre-orders. Xbox’s 25th anniversary looks to be both a celebration of its rich history and a time of excitement for its future.
