Nintendo Direct Officially Announced for This Week

A Nintendo Direct has just been officially confirmed for February 5, 2026. This upcoming Direct is set to last around 30 minutes and will be a Partner Showcase focused on third-party games heading to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

This February 5 Partner Showcase will mark the third Nintendo Direct of 2026. The first two Nintendo Directs of the year took place towards the end of January and in close proximity to one another. The first was a Direct focused solely on the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which showcased Illumination’s version of Yoshi for the first time and moved the film’s US release date forward to April 1, 2026. The second Nintendo Direct of the year revolved around Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, where fans were given a 20-minute deep-dive into the social sim’s new gameplay features.

Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Confirmed for February 5

  • Airing February 5 at 6am PT / 9am ET

A new Nintendo Direct will be airing on February 5. This official confirmation follows an assortment of leaks and rumors over the last few months claiming that a Nintendo Direct would air during the early weeks of February. This showcase also follows a long-standing tradition for the video game company, with some form of Nintendo Direct occurring most years since 2012.

It should be noted that this upcoming Nintendo Direct is branded as a Partner Showcase. This means that the Direct will focus on games from Nintendo’s third-party partners, meaning that first-party franchises like Mario and Zelda are unlikely to appear. Nintendo’s official announcement confirms that the Direct will last “roughly 30 minutes” and will contain reveals for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games.

What Will Be Shown During the February 5 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?

There are a plethora of games already confirmed to be heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The next few months will see the likes of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Tides, Reanimal, Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, and High on Life 2 all launch on the Switch 2. It’s possible that Nintendo will want to spotlight these imminent releases. There is also a wealth of upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games with general 2026 release windows that could be shown during the Partner Showcase, such as Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, The Duskbloods, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, and the Switch 2 edition of Hollow Knight: Silksong and its unreleased Sea of Sorrow DLC.

Of course, fans can also expect to see some entirely new game announcements during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, some of which could be slated for 2027 and beyond. Back in January 2025, an array of Xbox Studios games were rumored to release on Switch 2, including Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Starfield, Sea of Thieves, and an unspecified Call of Duty entry. Other third-party titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and Rainbow Six Siege were also rumored to be getting Switch 2 ports in the future. Nintendo has never officially confirmed that any of these games are heading to its hybrid console and rumors surrounding their alleged Switch 2 versions have gone quiet in recent months, but there’s a chance some could appear during the Direct.

Some more recent rumors, however, have claimed that a handful of highly requested games could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. The Kingdom Hearts trilogy is heavily rumored to be shown during the February 5 Nintendo Direct. Both Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Metaphor: ReFantazio are also reportedly targeting a 2026 release window for Switch 2 versions. Rumors should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but thankfully, fans won’t need to wait too long to find out if there’s any truth to them.
