A new amiibo based on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been revealed by Nintendo, alongside first images, and a release date. Since its release in 2023, Nintendo has offered several amiibo based on Tears of the Kingdom, including Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and some of the game’s supporting cast.

Nintendo first started releasing amiibo back in 2014, with the first wave coinciding with the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. More than a decade later, the company seems to have no plans of slowing down, and several figures are set to be released through the end of 2026. Resident Evil Requiem amiibo will be released in July, and multiple figures based on Splatoon Raiders and Kirby Air Riders are also on the way.

Nintendo’s Next Zelda Amiibo

The next amiibo based on the Zelda franchise will be Mineru’s Construct, which will be released on September 17. From the images shown so far, this looks significantly bigger than the amiibo based on the Sages from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which were released last year. Mineru’s Construct will also feature articulated arms, giving fans more freedom to pose it as they see fit. The figure will be priced at $34.99, which is similar to the price of the recently released Super Mario Galaxy amiibo. Those Mario and Rosalina figures were also on the bigger side, and that should give fans an idea of what to expect in terms of scale. Pre-orders are now live on the Nintendo Store.

Mineru’s Construct will be compatible with multiple games. Players can scan the amiibo in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and Zelda: Breath of the Wild to receive random items. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features several different paraglider fabrics, and a new one will debut alongside the Mineru’s Construct amiibo. Players that scan it in the game will get random items just like in the other games, but they’ll also have a chance of getting a special fabric that can partly glow in the dark.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the original Zelda game’s release on NES, and Nintendo has largely avoided discussing the occasion. That’s likely because Mario and Pokemon are both celebrating big milestones at the moment, but there’s a good chance that things could change later this year. A Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is rumored for Nintendo Switch 2, with a release allegedly happening during the holiday season. Nintendo released an amiibo of Link based on his appearance in Ocarina of Time several years ago, but it’s not a stretch to imagine that more could be made to coincide with the upcoming remake, if those rumors prove to be correct.

After more than a decade, it’s almost hard to believe amiibo figures continue to prove profitable for Nintendo. However, the figures remain very popular with the company’s fans, despite the fact that prices have increased over the last year, in large part due to tariffs. Even upcoming games that don’t have their own dedicated figures on the way will still have in-game amiibo support, including both Star Fox and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. As long as fans continue to support amiibo, it doesn’t seem like Nintendo has any plans to move away from making them.
