A new Nintendo Switch 2 bundle has been announced, and those who purchase it will be able to choose between one of the three biggest games released for the system so far. The Nintendo Switch 2 launched last year, with both a standard version for $449 and a bundle with a download code for Mario Kart World priced at $499. The bundle was phased out in 2025, and Nintendo has since offered other software bundles in its place, including an option with Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a price increase on September 1, which will see the base model for the system increase to $499. The price increase follows similar moves by PlayStation and Xbox, and is a result of negative market conditions. The worldwide RAM shortage, tariffs, and the war in Iran have all made things costlier for gaming companies. Nintendo raised the price of several products last year following the announcement of U.S. tariffs, with prices for Switch 2 peripherals increasing just days after they were first announced. The company had avoided raising the console price, but that will soon change.
Nintendo Reveals New Zelda Amiibo
A new amiibo based on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrives later this year, and Nintendo has shown first images alongside a release date announcement.
Nintendo Switch 2’s New Bundle Is a Great Deal
Starting in June, a new bundle will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2, which will cost $499. The bundle will allow purchasers to choose a download code for either Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokemon Pokopia. This will let buyers start with one of the biggest exclusives available on the system, none of which are playable on the original Switch. Two of those games have been available for almost a year now, but one is a relatively recent release. Arriving on the system in February, Pokemon Pokopia has already sold more than 4 million copies. That number pushed it into the system’s top 3 sellers, surpassing games like Kirby Air Riders and Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Out of all the Switch 2 bundles offered so far, this one is easily the best deal for consumers. Mario Kart World retails for $79.99, so those who decide to buy the bundle with that game will be saving about $30. Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokemon Pokopia are normally priced at $69.99, so the savings are a little bit smaller. However, some people would prefer having a 3D platformer or a sandbox game to go with the system, as opposed to the latest Mario Kart. This new bundle will offer a lot more freedom of choice than any of the previous offerings.
This bundle should also be a great opportunity for those planning to buy a Switch 2 before the price goes up. Nintendo wants to increase the “ownership value” of the Switch 2, which president Shuntaro Furukawa says will happen as the company builds a strong software lineup for the system. The Switch 2 has at least three first-party exclusives set to be released before the end of July, though things are a bit less clear for the rest of 2026. Still, with a Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake rumored to be released this year, it does seem like there are plenty of positives to be excited about.

Nintendo has not offered any additional information about the bundle deal, but more details should be revealed as June approaches. Those planning to buy a Switch 2 before the price goes up should wait just a little bit longer so they can lock in the deal and start off with one of the system’s best games at a discounted price.
