Nintendo Switch 2 is gearing up for one of its busiest months to date thanks to all the new games coming to the console in October 2026. The Nintendo Switch 2 has had an incredible 2026, enjoying major third-party releases and plenty of exclusive titles, including Pokemon Pokopia, which is actually one of the highest-rated new game releases of the entire year.
While developments like the Switch 2 price increase are unfortunate, Nintendo has done a good job of ensuring that there is plenty of worthwhile new content releasing for the console on a regular basis. Nintendo releases a major new exclusive game nearly every month, with Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave serving as September’s offering. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave has earned rave reviews from critics and should keep Switch 2 gamers busy for dozens of hours.

Whenever Switch 2 gamers are done with Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, they may want to turn their attention to some of the new games releasing in October. Barring any last-minute delays, there are 12 big new Switch 2 games releasing in October 2026, starting with Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival and Order of the Sinking Star on October 8. Then, It Takes Two and The Jackbox Party Pack 12 are on deck for October 15, with a trio of acclaimed Resident Evil games getting Switch 2 versions on October 16. Final Fantasy Resonance and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort are releasing on October 22, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, and The Wolf Among Us Remastered are lined up for October 23, 27, and 29, respectively.
The big new Switch 2 exclusive releasing in October is Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. A continuation of the Wii Sports franchise, the OG Nintendo Switch Sports was definitely a fun time, and Switch Sports Resort looks like it will be bigger and better. It should be a great pick for those needing a new party game for their Switch 2, and what’s been shown far has definitely looked promising.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 also stands out as a particularly notable new Switch 2 release for October 2026. While Call of Duty games used to release on Nintendo platforms, the franchise skipped the Switch 1 entirely. When Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, it pledged to bring Call of Duty games to competing platforms like Nintendo’s consoles, and we’re seeing it happen for the first time with Modern Warfare 4. Not all Call of Duty games are created equal, but Modern Warfare 4 looks like it will be one of the better ones when it releases on October 23, so it should be a great way to kick off the franchise’s presence on Switch 2.
All things considered, there’s a ton for Switch 2 owners to look forward to in October 2026, but there’s even more coming later in the year. In fact, the biggest Switch 2 release of the year, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, is launching on November 5. Time will tell if it lives up to the hype, but chances are it will be yet another fantastic Switch 2 exclusive.
