No Man’s Sky Player Builds Incredible Course for Racing Starships

No Man’s Sky Player Builds Incredible Course for Racing Starships

While playing No Man’s Sky, one player built a course that allowed them to host starship races, challenging other gamers to test their racing abilities. No Man’s Sky might have gotten off to a rough start in 2016, but Hello Games has rebounded, releasing numerous free content updates and fixing bugs along the way. As a result, the game has continued to attract players nearly 10 years after its initial release.

As players continue to check out No Man’s Sky, many have let their creativity run wild. Thanks to various updates over the past decade, Hello Games added base-building tools, allowing players to build eye-catching structures in the game. Incredible builds, such as a Cyberpunk City in No Man’s Sky, have been shown off, earning the praise of the community. Players can also share glyphs so that other travelers can visit their planets and see their creations.

Best No Man’s Sky Updates Ever

Relive the evolution of No Man’s Sky through its most impactful updates. From co-op multiplayer to corvettes and beyond.

No Man’s Sky Player Adds Starship Racing to Their Planet

One of these recent creations was showcased on the No Man’s Sky subreddit by Pleasant-Disaster837. Specifically, the Reddit user had designed what they called “Starship Races,” allowing players to show off their piloting skills. As seen in the video, Pleasant-Disaster837 had created a series of gateways that players had to fly through as they raced around the planet. Passing through the checkpoints often required making sharp turns and could be challenging when trying to get a fast time. “It’s not as easy as it looks,” the Reddit user said when posting the course. Adding to the fun, multiple starships could race at the same time, as illustrated in the video.

No Man’s Sky players have loved racing through Pleasant-Disaster837’s course. So far, the Reddit post has gained hundreds of upvotes, with many fans wondering how the course was built. According to the creator, camera glitches and multiple PS accounts were used to help realize the creation. For those interested in trying out the build, the glyphs were shared at the end of the video. Pleasant-Disaster837 noted that a “pretty consistent flow of players” has checked out the course since its release. The creator even hosted several three-lap races. In the Reddit comments, some fans talked about the positives of the track, with one person saying that it is “tight, technical, and renders in super quick.”

This player-created course for starship racing has many fans hoping for an official feature to be added in the future. Interestingly, one user pointed out that No Man’s Sky actually had the feature in version 1.4 before being subsequently removed. Unfortunately, its implementation was very limited at that time. However, it is possible that the feature could make a return, given Hello Games’ commitment to adding new content to No Man’s Sky.

Players will have to wait and see if starship racing ever comes back to the game in an official capacity. Nevertheless, it is nice that players have another option thanks to Pleasant-Disaster837’s hard work. It is worth mentioning that other players have been sharing impressive creations made in No Man’s Sky in recent months. For example, incredible ship designs have been showcased thanks to last year’s Voyagers update, which added new building tools to design custom Corvette-class starships.

As No Man’s Sky approaches its 10th anniversary, it looks like Hello Games has no plans to slow down. While the developer continues to work on Light No Fire, it has stated that more updates are planned for its 2016 game as well. Time will tell what other content could come to No Man’s Sky in the months ahead.
