No Man’s Sky Player Builds Massive Cyberpunk City

No Man’s Sky Player Builds Massive Cyberpunk City

A passionate No Man’s Sky player has managed to hit the game’s 3,000-part building limit, creating a beautiful Cyberpunk-inspired city. No Man’s Sky remains one of the most popular titles on the market and has continued to establish itself as one of gaming’s greatest comeback stories. Arriving on a wave of hype at its launch in 2016, No Man’s Sky‘s unique technical elements and its procedurally generated universe featuring 18.6 quintillion planets were offset by a lack of meaningful gameplay and a bevy of controversies stemming from a lack of previously announced features.

Since its launch, however, developer Hello Games has worked to fix the game’s issues, offering a multitude of free updates that added several of the once-promised features, such as multiplayer support. Since then, No Man’s Sky has seen its player count increase and has managed to live up to the massive potential it showed upon its initial reveal in 2013. The game has also continued to expand its reach across numerous platforms, most recently receiving a Nintendo Switch 2 release at the platform’s launch last year.

No Man’s Sky Releases Major New Update for October 2025

Hello Games releases the next major update for No Man’s Sky following the massive success of the game’s Voyagers content update in August 2025.

Gamer Creates Stunning Cyberpunk City in No Man’s Sky Despite Build Limit

On the No Man’s Sky subreddit, user xMr_Lagz posted screenshots showcasing a Cyberpunk-style city they built in the game within the 3,000-part build limit. This city, known as Cyron Nexus, is located on the planet Aurelis Prime in the Euclid Galaxy. XMr_Lagz claims to have spent anywhere from 15 to 20 hours constructing the base, though they note that they left and returned to it at different points in the construction process. XMr_Lagz also offered players the opportunity to visit the base, listing the coordinates as +5.19, +27.19.

XMr_Lagz noted that they would’ve continued building the city had they not hit the game’s 3,000-part limit for uploadable bases, which is the maximum a user can use if they wish for other players to be able to use them. No Man’s Sky’s 3,000-part maximum for uploaded bases is in place to ensure stability across all devices, as increasingly complex bases with larger amounts of parts would potentially cause performance issues on lower-end hardware, such as the Nintendo Switch. Players can still use more than 3,000 parts on their own bases, with the game offering a 16,000-part maximum across a single save file.

No Man's Sky player creates a base that looks like an oil rig.

XMr_Lagz’s city is a reminder of the growth No Man’s Sky has shown since its launch, and another example of the game living up to its potential. While it had been promised before the release of the game, base building was not initially available in the game, only being added later in 2016 as part of No Man’s Sky’s Foundation Update. Without Hello Games’ hard work to improve the game, a build such as this would not have been possible.

XMr_Lagz’s Cyberpunk build also showcases the creativity of the passionate No Man’s Sky fanbase, even in the wake of the game’s limitations. Even with a 3,000-part limit, xMr_Lagz used the tools at their disposal to create a full-fledged city that is visually gorgeous with plenty of options to explore. While an increase to the build limit would be a fantastic addition to the game, xMr_Lagz’s Cyberpunk city shows that great things can still come in smaller packages.
