Pokemon is continuing a conspicuous countdown that is slated to end on November 30, as a new image posted on social media was the third in an ongoing and cryptic sequence of teases from the company. As of this writing, Pokemon has not officially commented on what could be revealed at the end of November, leaving fans free to speculate on what could be shown off.
Throughout 2026, the Pokemon franchise conducted its 30th anniversary campaign worldwide to celebrate the original 1996 release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan. Along with confirmation that Pokemon Winds and Waves are in development, Pokemon‘s 30th anniversary has also resulted in some collaboration announcements. Throughout the year, Pokemon revealed it was crossing over with brands such as Fender and LEGO.
Pokemon’s Cryptic Teddiursa Post is the Third in a Pattern
However, a third entry in an ongoing series of social media posts from The Pokemon Company has officially revealed a pattern for fans to follow. According to Serebii.net webmaster Joe Merrick on Bluesky, Pokemon‘s official social media feeds in Japan are counting down to something occurring on November 30. As of this writing, The Pokemon Company shared an image of Teddiursa next to the Pokemon 30th anniversary logo, with the number 676 beneath it. Merrick said that the text beneath the number 676 roughly translates to “Continue with Pokemon.” Previously, Pokemon posted images of Goodra and Bulbasaur, with the numbers 843 and 1025 attached to them, respectively. Merrick stated that, with Teddiursa being a third data point, Pokemon‘s countdown will reach zero on Monday, November 30 at 9:00 AM Eastern. Given that the countdown will end on the hour that a Pokemon Presents broadcast usually goes live, it is possible that The Pokemon Company could drop some big news on that date that corresponds to the ongoing 30th anniversary festivities.
One popular guess pointed to the long-rumored release of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, which would follow after the surprise launch of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. An October Pokemon Home update made some changes to accommodate more GBA-era Pokemon titles aside from FireRed and LeafGreen, meaning that a potential drop for Ruby and Sapphire is not entirely out of the question.
Another popular guess among Pokemon fans was that November 30 could be when the company shares more details about the upcoming Pokemon Winds and Waves. Although Pokemon‘s Gen 10 titles are among the most anticipated RPGs coming to Switch 2 in 2027, The Pokemon Company has kept a tight lid on showing off too many details about the upcoming entries. While Pokemon Winds and Waves are likely still a year away, it is plausible that the company could give fans another tease about Gen 10 to sate their appetites.
In the meantime, Pokemon fans looking for something to do can fire up Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and take on Hydreigon the Unrivaled via Seven-Star Tera Raid dens scattered throughout Paldea. With Pokemon‘s ongoing countdown now establishing itself as a pattern, it remains to be seen what will be revealed when it hits zero.
