With Grand Theft Auto 6 now under one month away from its November 19 release date, Rockstar Games is entering the final stretch of its marketing campaign for one of the most anticipated games of all time, and the next date worth watching is October 22. Rockstar has already shown off plenty of what the open-world map of Vice City and Leonida looks like, as well as some of GTA 6‘s story and main characters.
Rockstar Games has generally kept its GTA 6 reveals spaced out, giving each announcement room to attract attention before moving on. That said, “moving on” might be a strong word because a lot has been discussed and detailed, but very little has been shown. In the last month until release, the biggest showcase for GTA 6 would be more gameplay aside from the Extended Look or perhaps something more story-focused. Either way, October 22 will have something new for fans.
GTA 6’s Next News Drop is October 22
- Thursday, August 27 – GTA 6 Extended Look
- Thursday, September 3 – DualSense Reveal
- Thursday, September 10 – DualSense Pre-Orders
- Thursday, September 17 – GTA 6 Album Reveal
- Thursday, September 24 – Collector’s Edition Reveal
- Thursday, October 1 – Age Rating
- Thursday, October 8 – Preview of GTA 6’s radio stations
- Thursday, October 15 – GTA 6’s Launch Trailer
- Thursday, October 22 – ???
Rockstar Games upheld its Thursday reveal pattern on October 15 with the release of the GTA 6 Launch Trailer, making October 22 the next date to watch for more news. It could be something relatively small and unrelated, like the GTA 6 DualSense controllers, or it could be some kind of gameplay segment. It could also be somethign else that continues to flesh out the open world of GTA 6, which is equally exciting nonetheless. Rockstar hasn’t really shown its hand when it comes to the most anticipated game of all time, and that makes sense.

The October 15 GTA 6 Launch Trailer also arrived at an important point in the game’s marketing campaign. With only a month remaining until release, Rockstar has been steadily building a clearer picture of what players can expect from GTA 6, including its protagonists, criminal underworld, and sprawling open world, while the established Thursday schedule provides a straightforward reason to look ahead to the next potential announcement.
Of course, Rockstar has not confirmed that October 22 will bring another GTA 6 reveal, and the pattern alone does not guarantee a new info drop every week. Another Thursday announcement would fit the studio’s recent approach, still, whether it involves additional gameplay footage, more information about Leonida, or another look at the characters driving the story. Right now, though, it’s uncertain what will be shown, if anything will be shown, and what could possibly follow a Launch Trailer that came out weeks before GTA 6‘s November 19 release date.
That puts a lot of pressure on October 22, but even if Rockstar plays it safe with the next GTA 6 news drop, the world (not just Vice City) is paying attention. Ultimately, fans have good reason to keep watching for more information about GTA 6, especially on October 22, even if Rockstar has yet to confirm what comes next.
