Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco has just announced a new competition, tasking fans to create their own trailers in an attempt to win a variety of prizes, including a massive statue of Messmer the Impaler. Fans are challenged to show off their directing and editing skills by putting together a comprehensive, short-form video showcase of the game ahead of the highly anticipated release of Elden Ring‘s Shadow of Erdtree DLC later this year.
Elden Ring was released in early 2022, quickly becoming a phenomenon in the industry. While developer FromSowftare had already produced several world-renowned hits like Bloodborne as well as the critically acclaimed Dark Souls series, this new open-world game took the world by storm, with Elden Ring going on to sell close to 25 million copies. With hundreds of hours of quests and content to explore, as well as a daunting number of enemies and bosses to fight, Elden Ring has widely been considered to be one of the best video games of all time. Elden Ring is gearing up for its first-ever DLC expansion, with Bandai Namco attempting to heighten this excitement even further with a new fan contest.
21 Elden Ring Mods That Make The Game Easier
For those craving more accessibility, these Elden Ring mods can make the game considerably easier for Tarnished who just want to enjoy the ride.
Bandai Namco announced this new contest on its official Twitter account, sharing details about this very exciting opportunity for fans. To enter the Return to Grace Video Contest, fans will need to put together a trailer commemorating their experience in Elden Ring. The first-place winner will receive a massive, 10-foot-tall statue of Messmer the Impaler, a key figure in Elden Ring‘s upcoming DLC expansion. In addition to this massive prize, several other runner-up prizes will be offered.
Elden Ring Announces New Fan Competition
One of the runner-up prizes is just as exciting as the statue of Messmer, with a life-sized replica of Elden Ring‘s Arm of Malenia being offered. This prize will be awarded to trailers with the best direction and action. Fans are required to stay under the five-minute mark for these trailers, with several prizes being offered for different categories, including things like best sound, best armor design, and overall originality. The Return to Grace Video Contest is open to US residents ages 18+, with the deadline for entry being June 2.
This special competition launches just prior to Elden Ring‘s first-ever expansion, Shadow of Erdtree, which officially releases on June 21, 2024. While the game features an incredible amount of content, Elden Ring’s new Shadow of Erdtree DLC will allow it to feel fresh once again, offering veterans and beginners alike new places to explore and foes to defeat. The trailer for this new DLC was released several months ago and has managed to excite the Elden Ring community quite a bit, showing off various NPCs as well as teasing new areas, enemies, and bosses.
