During today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live event, a game I’ve always wanted was revealed with a brief trailer. Folks, someone is finally making a Lego city builder.
On Tuesday, Paradox Interactive announced Lego Skylines, a previously leaked and rumored city builder featuring those tiny plastic bricks so many people, myself included, love so much.

The idea of a Lego city-builder video game is basically catnip for me. I love Lego. I love spending many hours laying out streets and businesses as efficiently as possible. So getting to do that but with digital Lego bricks and minifigs sounds like a dream come true.
No release date was given for Lego Skylines, which is a spin-off of the City Skylines city builder franchise. But I’ll be there on day one to play it and lose days of my life building Lego cities. Heck, it will be a lot cheaper than buying thousands of Lego bricks to make a big tabletop city in real life. And I won’t have to give up my basement either.
