The open-world survival RPG Wild Terra 2: New Lands is now available to claim for free on Steam until December 18. The sequel to 2017’s free-to-play MMORPG Wild Terra Online, Juvty World’s Wild Terra 2 released on Steam in 2022, offering a follow-up that developer intended to be bigger and better than its predecessor.
The MMORPG offers deep crafting, survival and, of course, role-playing elements that allow player to be a blacksmith, cartographer, hunter, or any of a wide variety of craftspeople trying to make their way in Wild Terra 2’s medieval fantasy world. Offering both a PvE and PvP experience, players will explore different biomes, hunt, and delve deep into dungeons to track down loot and bosses to defeat.

Wild Terra 2: New Lands Can Be Claimed for Free for a Limited Time
On December 16, developer Juvty Worlds opened a new North American PvE server for Wild Terra 2: New Lands, offering double loot and faster progression for new characters for two weeks. To celebrate this, the studio is offering the game for free on Steam until December 18, and it will be added permanently to player libraries. Notably, the game still shows as being full price when looking at the first entry on the Steam page, but scrolling down will show a second link with a 100 percent discount.
Normally, Wild Terra 2: New Lands retails for $39.99 USD, so this is an incredible offer that interested gamers will want to take advantage of quickly. The game will revert to its regular price in time for the launch of the Christmas event on December 18, which will add festive content and rewards to help players celebrate the holiday season.
December 16 also marks the release of Update 2.4.397 for Wild Terra 2: New Lands, which provides bug fixes and optimizations, and also overhauls the game’s guild system. This means that all guilds have been disbanded and must be reformed. They also now have levels, and increasing the guild level will unlock new features like passive bonuses for characters, storage, and a guild hall. There will now be daily tasks for guilds to participate in as well, along with bonus experience for completing guild quests.
There are currently a few games that Steam users can permanently add to their libraries for free. One of these is a retro platform game called One Gun Guy, developed by Ritual Games and released in March 2022. Unlike many platformers, this sci-fi jaunt takes place entirely in a single giant level that offers hidden areas, power-ups to discover, and a variety of enemies and a boss to take on. Though it’s fairly short, with some reviewers stating that they completed the game in about 20 minutes, One Gun Guy does offer several difficulty settings that will entice some players to run through it more than once. It is available to claim for free from Steam until December 18 at 10 AM PST.
Also available at no cost until December 18 is Pearl Abyss’ 2016 open-world action MMORPG Black Desert. Currently sitting at a Mostly Positive rating on the platform, based on more than 60,000 user reviews, the fantasy sandbox game has been praised for its incredible graphics and setting, vast world to explore, and old-school gameplay that doesn’t do much hand-holding. It offers all the basics that one would expect from an epic online RPG: quests, bosses, gear, crafting, PvP, and solo leveling. So, thanks to current free Steam offers, fans of fantasy role-playing games have plenty to fill their time.
