Overwatch has officially revealed the gameplay for Sierra, the new hero coming in Reign of Talon Season 2, with abilities including a Tracking Shot, Tremor Charge, and an Anchor Drone that can act as a grapple point or aerial fire support. Sierra marks the 51st hero in Overwatch, and the sixth to be released as a part of Reign of Talon in 2026.
Recently, Overwatch revealed Sierra, the next playable character coming to the hero shooter. The Helix Security captain is working with Overwatch to oppose Talon, who has attacked her base at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa in order to steal a mysterious briefcase from the facility. The drone-wielding hero held her own against Emre, but was ultimately outmatched, allowing Talon to secure the payload they sought.

Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 Hero Sierra Abilities
Now, Overwatch has officially revealed how this new character will play in the game. A short gameplay trailer showcased all of Sierra’s abilities, which center around her homing Helix Rifle, Tremor Charges, and her hot pink Anchor Drone, Dorothy. Using this kit, Sierra will fill the same run-and-gun archetype as Overwatch heroes like Emre, Sojourn, and Soldier: 76.

Sierra looks like a dangerous and highly-mobile force on the battlefield. Her Helix Rifle functions like Sojourn’s Railgun, but with the ability to lock on to foes instead of using a Charged Shot. Her Anchor Drone looks similar to Vendetta’s Soaring Slice, giving her a potent engagement and escape tool. Meanwhile, her Tremor Charge and Trailblazer give her powerful area-of-effect options. Sierra seems like she will be a dangerous foe for flying Overwatch heroes like Jetpack Cat and teams who are grouped together.
Though Sierra’s present activities – opposing Talon after their attack on her facility – are known, her backstory is still shrouded in mystery. Players can expect to see a motion comic on April 13 ahead of Season 2’s release, which will likely explain where she came from, how she joined Helix Security in Overwatch, and how she met her drone, Dorothy.
