Halloween has become an iconic part of the year for the best horror games, giving developers an excuse to bring players back for seasonal events, limited-time challenges, and new ways to make already-scary games even more unsettling. Few games are better suited to the holiday than Phasmophobia, which has spent years turning ghost hunting into a multiplayer experience where even familiar locations can become dangerously fun when the lights go out.
Phasmophobia has also made seasonal events a regular part of its yearly schedule, giving players another reason to return as October rolls around. The game’s Halloween celebrations have become especially recognizable, often changing familiar locations and adding special objectives that give investigations a different feel. Phasmophobia is keeping that tradition going again in 2026, with Kinetic Games now laying out exactly what players can expect throughout October.
Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye Halloween Event Returns for 2026
Phasmophobia‘s Crimson Eye 2026 event will officially begin on October 8 and run through November 1. Kinetic Games says the update containing the event will deploy on October 7, one day before the event itself begins. Crimson Eye will appear across eight locations, including Nell’s Diner and the reworked 6 Tanglewood Drive and 13 Willow Street. Players will hunt down Blood Moon totems, complete investigations and optional objectives, and deal with Blood Moon weather that makes the ghosts more challenging.
The 2026 Phasmophobia event also comes with several rewards to work toward, including a seasonal event T-shirt, the Beholder ID Card and Badge set, and a Blood Moon charm. An upgradeable trophy is returning as well, although players who already unlocked it will continue upgrading their existing trophy instead of receiving another one. Phasmophobia will also feature a Twitch Drop during the first week, with two hours of watching streams earning the Crimson Eye tee through October 15, expanding Phasmophobia‘s character customization options.
There are a few other reasons to keep Phasmophobia installed throughout the event. From October 15 through October 22, Kinetic Games will run a Double XP and Rewards period, doubling rewards from completed investigations. Then, from October 26 through November 1, Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts returns in partnership with the American Heart Association. The 2025 event raised more than $100,000, and Kinetic Games says this year’s version is planned to be bigger, with the event and its rewards available to creators and players.
Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye event should give players plenty of reasons to jump back into the game throughout October, especially with the event changing multiple locations and adding several overlapping activities. The October 8 start also means players will not have to wait long to see how the reworked locations look under the Blood Moon, while the final week brings the return of Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts.
