PlayStation Plus is having an incredibly busy end of July 2026/beginning of August 2026, adding its final PS Plus Extra games for July and announcing its first PS Plus free games for August 2026, but it has also confirmed a special bonus freebie for a brand new game on August 6. What’s more, it’ll be available to all PS Plus subscribers regardless of which tier they are subscribed to: Essential, Extra, and/or Premium.
Right now, Extra and Premium subscribers can also claim the latest addition to the PS Plus July 2026 games catalog: Dying Light, Snow Bros. Wonderland, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. PS Plus Essential subscribers (and higher tiers, of course) will also be able to claim Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk, and Signalis as the monthly free games on August 4. And then, on August 6, there’s a bonus freebie for a brand-new Marvel game, too.
PS Plus Subscribers Get Bonus Freebies for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
Announced alongside the PS Plus free games for August 2026 is the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls PlayStation Plus Pack, a bonus freebie that can be claimed beginning August 6, 2026, and that will last until August 6, 2027. This is obviously in celebration of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls‘ release on PS5 the same day, August 6, and includes two sets of special items:
- Five Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Avatars—Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Ghost Rider
- A Set of Result Screen Character Poses featuring 20 characters—Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker, and more

While it is a small freebie overall, it’s worth mentioning that it’s widely and easily available for PS Plus subscribers. Anyone playing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on PS5 is going to need PS Plus Essential to play online, and so it seems safe to say that most Marvel Tokon players are at least going to have that tier. So, it’s a special little bonus for everyone choosing to play the newest fighting game on PS Plus.
Claiming these special items is also as simple as they are. While it’s possible to claim them via the PS Plus website, they’ll also populate on the PlayStation Plus section of the PlayStation Store. Players will be able to access it there, redeem it there, and directly download its contents. The Avatars will then appear in the Avatar section of the profile page, while the Result Screen Character Poses will be accessible in-game immediately after downloading.
The upcoming fighting game obviously has a lot of hype around it, so fans should be sure to mark August 6 on their calendar and also keep this freebie in mind when they sit down to play the game. At the same time, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls isn’t just releasing and calling itself a one-and-done. Already, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has confirmed that Phoenix Cyclops is coming in its DLC line-up, setting a strong precedent for its DLC roster.
