The newly released Pokemon Champions game lets you use Pokemon from older games through Pokemon Home, though some players shared that a bug has locked their beloved pocket monsters in purgatory after the transfer process.
Competitive Pokemon player Justin Carris said on X that trying to send Pokemon from Home to Champions resulted in error code 9007. After receiving the error, those Pokemon couldn’t be transferred to Champions, traded on the Pokemon Home mobile app, or sent back to their original games. Replies to the post indicate that other Champions players are experiencing the same issue.
In short, those Pokemon are still listed on Pokemon Home, but they can’t be used or transferred outside of it after the error.
PSA:
There is a massive bug with transferring pokemon between Pokemon HOME & Champions
1. Error displays when attempting to send HOME mons to Champs
2. Those pokemon can no longer be moved to Champs, traded in HOME or moved back to SV

GameSpot has reached out to The Pokemon Company about the bug. One user said they received a reply from Nintendo Support suggesting to clear the cache for Pokemon Champions and the Switch console itself, but it doesn’t seem to have worked for Carris and other players.
“I spent hours and hours cultivating the Pokemon I would be sending to my copy of Champions so that I could start grinding the game, recording footage for videos, and getting a grasp of the meta for my coaching & consulting businesses,” Carris added. “This is an unacceptable setback.”
With Pokemon Champions set to be the main competitive title in the series going forward, launching with such an egregious bug doesn’t bode well for a game meant for the long term. You can theoretically bring back Pokemon you’ve had since the Game Boy Advance era into Pokemon Champions, but it would be a shame if they were lost due to this error all these years later.
