- Pokemon fan artist redesigned Houndour and Houndoom as Water and Electric types for art challenge.
- Pokemon fan artists like Shroodledoodles continue to reimagine favorite creatures in creative ways.
To commemorate a subscriber milestone on their YouTube channel, a Pokemon fan artist redesigns Houndour and Houndoom as different types and shares their finished work with fans. Other trainers congratulated the Pokemon fan artist for their efforts, and for giving Houndour and Houndoom a fresh look as part of an art challenge.
As two of the first Dark-type Pokemon in the series, Houndour and Houndoom first appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Once caught, Houndour evolves into Houndoom at level 24. Though Houndoom’s physical defenses are a weak spot, it can use moves such as Flamethrower, Crunch, Shadow Ball, and Psychic Fangs to counter some threats, which makes it a Pokemon worth considering in any team.
Pokemon Fan Makes Adorable Shiny Rockruff Plush
A Pokemon fan makes an adorable and sizable Shiny Rockruff plush toy, which draws interesting comparisons from fellow Pokemon fans.
While Houndour and Houndoom’s Dark and Fire types are among the most competitive Pokemon type pairs, one fan artist gave a different take on them with their recent work. Reddit user Poetically_Imperfect, also known as Shroodledoodles on YouTube, shared two drawings on the r/Pokemon subreddit of Houndour and Houndoom as different types. To celebrate reaching 100 YouTube subscribers, Shroodledoodles changed one letter in Houndour’s and Houndoom’s names and was able to make new Pokemon designs based on it. Houndour became Hounpour, the Rainy Pup Pokemon, and Houndoom was changed to Hounboom, the Thundering Pokemon. Both Pokemon had a dark blue and yellow coat, with fur tufts inspired by rain clouds on their paws and backs. Hounboom’s horns and tail were given lightning bolt patterns inspired by Raichu.
Pokemon Fan Artist Draws Houndour and Houndoom as Storm Hound Pokemon
Known for work like turning Snorlax into a Future Paradox Pokemon, Shroodledoodles explained in a YouTube video that Houndour and Houndoom were among her favorite creatures in the Pokemon series, so she kept the Dark-type as the main types for Hounpour and Hounboom. However, Hounpour’s and Hounboom’s secondary types differed, as they were given the Water and Electric types, respectively. Hounpour and Houmboom were given Static and Levitate as their main abilities, and their highest stats were in special attack and speed, which would make them a threat against slower Pokemon.
In response, some r/Pokemon users congratulated Shroodledoodles for reaching 100 YouTube subscribers and taking on the art challenge. As Pokemon fan artists continue redesigning their favorite critters as different types, only time will tell what artists like Shroodledoodoles will come up with next.
