Pokemon Gen 10 Leak Reveals 9 New Environments With Huge Implications

A large batch of screenshots said to depict an early build of the Generation 10 Pokemon games has surfaced online. The leaked images showcase nine environments, with one of them having significant implications for the upcoming Pokemon games by hinting at the return of underwater routes, which have been absent from the franchise since the early 2010s.

Details about the Generation 10 Pokemon games have been leaking online since the major “Teraleak” in October 2024, reportedly stemming from a Game Freak data breach. The resulting information suggests that the next mainline titles will be called Pokemon Wind and Wave or Winds and Waves. Analyses of the leaked materials indicate the games’ map is likely based on Indonesia, with several environments drawing broader inspiration from the entire Southeast Asia region.

Pokemon Gen 10 has already been a leaky ship, but the latest gives fans an in-depth overview of what the region has to offer.

Pokemon Wind and Wave Leak Reveals Underwater Area

The latest Pokemon Wind and Wave leak surfaced on February 6, when Twitter user Grubbinscrubbin shared alleged screenshots from an early build of the upcoming games. The images show nine locations in total, most of which appear to be distinct environments, though some may depict the same area from different vantage points. A notable highlight is an underwater scene showing what appears to be a seafloor covered in pink algae across an uneven, pale sandy surface.

Underwater Routes Possibly Returning in Pokemon Wind and Wave

The presence of a seabed environment suggests Pokemon Wind and Wave may mark a return of underwater routes, which have been absent from the series for over a decade. The latest mainline Pokemon RPGs to feature such areas were Black 2 and White 2, released in June 2012. In both the Hoenn- and Unova-region games, underwater routes functioned similarly, requiring players to use the Dive HM or TM in the overworld to access them. With the Generation 10 titles reportedly set in an archipelago, incorporating diving mechanics would align with the setting, where players are expected to spend considerable time navigating aquatic environments.

Among the rest of the leaked screenshots, one shows a large metropolitan area that may be the same city featured in a previous Pokemon Wind and Wave leak from December 2025. The new image reveals a large park containing either a pond or an area with blue tiling, alongside a mix of futuristic and historical architecture. A sand-covered cliff is visible in the upper-right corner of the image, suggesting the city may be situated in a desert environment.

Another environment shown in the February 2026 leak depicts the outskirts of a swamp, featuring a large hollow tree stump near its center. The swamp appears to transition into a sunlit grassland biome. This particular screenshot is notable for including a pixelated section in its central area—presumably to obscure identifying information about the leak’s source. If captured from a playable build, the censored area likely coincides with the player character’s location. The pixelation is extremely aggressive, reducing the section to but a few indistinct rectangles and obscuring any details, including color. The remaining leaked screenshots depict a snowy mountain, a desert spire—possibly part of the aforementioned city—and several lush environments.

Pokemon Wind and Pokemon Wave are likely to be announced on February 27, i.e., this year’s Pokemon Day. The upcoming event is expected to yield many additional announcements, not least because 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise that The Pokemon Company will likely want to commemorate in a plethora of ways.
