A rough sketch of the Generation 10 Pokemon games’ map has leaked online. It emerged alongside some other alleged details about the next mainline entries in the Pokemon franchise.
The information comes from Twitter user CentroLeaks, who has been compiling tidbits about the Generation 10 games since the massive Pokemon “Teraleak” that resulted in thousands of Game Freak documents surfacing online in October 2024. The upcoming RPGs are believed to be called either Pokemon Winds and Waves or Wind and Wave, with leaks pointing to them targeting a 2026 release window.

Alleged Pokemon Winds and Waves Map Sketch Leaks Online
CentroLeaks has once again taken to Twitter in late November 2025 to share another purported detail about the upcoming titles: a rough sketch of their map. The drawing depicts what looks like an archipelago, aligning with earlier leaks suggesting that the region Pokemon Winds and Waves is set in will be based on Southeast Asia and Indonesia, in particular. The northeastern section of the map reportedly includes a mountainous area, while the largest island in the southwest is said to contain an arid desert. The central cluster of islands is expected to feature at least two volcanoes, as per the same source.
Pokemon Winds and Waves Will Reportedly Feature Around 30 Islands
Although CentroLeaks’ sketch features only 15 islands, these are understood to only represent the largest land masses in the upcoming titles, which are expected to include many smaller locations as well. The source reported counting “around 30 islands” in total. CentroLeaks did not clarify how the drawing relates to their earlier claim that Pokemon Winds and Waves would feature an effectively “infinite” region with procedurally generated islands. Based on Game Freak’s track record and broader industry norms, it is possible that if such a concept is implemented, the upcoming RPGs will include a smaller section of the map that is randomized—potentially a procedural take on the Mirage Island concept from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald—while still offering a wide range of handcrafted locations.
The leaked sketch depicts a map that could be well-suited to Game Freak’s route-based environment design, one that’s possibly traversed in a relatively linear fashion at first, before players unlock additional traversal options such as sailing or flying. In addition to islands, Pokemon Winds and Waves may incorporate a degree of randomization in creature design. CentroLeaks previously claimed that some basic mons in the upcoming titles would feature infinite evolutionary variations. Weather-based moves are rumored to serve as the central gameplay mechanic of the Generation 10 titles, though no specific details about their implementation have emerged yet. The National Pokedex is not expected to return.
The combat system of Pokemon Winds and Waves is rumored to draw some inspiration from the Pokemon Legends games, but while remaining fundamentally turn-based. According to leaks from October 2025, the development budget for the upcoming RPGs is estimated at around $20 million, similar to that of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This figure is considered relatively low for a high-profile release by today’s standards, outside of the indie space. However, it would still mark a notable increase from Pokemon Sword and Shield, which are believed to have had a budget of approximately ¥2.5 billion, or roughly $16 million at current exchange rates.

Even if all current leaks originate from legitimate sources, game development inherently involves a degree of unpredictability, and last-minute changes are not uncommon. As such, there is no guarantee that all reported details about Pokemon Winds and Waves will materialize. What appears more certain is the likely announcement window for the upcoming titles. Assuming a 2026 release is planned, Game Freak’s track record suggests they are most likely to be officially revealed during the next Pokemon Day, scheduled for February 27.
