Pokemon GO Adds Helpful Resource for Players Looking for Raids

Pokemon GO has officially rolled out an online map for the mobile game, making it easier than ever to find local Raids and Gyms. The massively popular spin-off of the monster-catching franchise features plenty of opportunities for players to challenge its most powerful creatures with multiple different types of endgame content. Raids allow players to team up with one another to take on some of Pokemon GO‘s most elusive creatures, with some of the toughest Raids in the game allowing up to 100 players on a team. The game has also pushed plenty of notable changes to Raids in recent months.

Raids have been a big focus for Pokemon GO throughout the past year, rolling out a plethora of updates. Pokemon GO increased the player limit for Gigantamax Battles to 100 during 2025’s GO Fest: Max Finale event, specifically geared around the Eternamax Eternatus battle. Pokemon GO also recently revealed another big change coming to its Mega Raids, adding the new Super Mega Raids as some of the toughest battles in the game and requiring a special currency to challenge. Now, Pokemon GO is debuting a new resource aimed at helping players find Raids near them.

Pokemon GO reveals a special event coming in early March to celebrate the highly anticipated launch of the new spin-off Pokemon Pokopia.

Pokemon GO rolled out an online map for Raids on February 26, allowing players to track several different points of interest from the game’s official website. The map allows players to pinpoint locations for both regular Raids and the new Super Mega Raids, showing the Pokemon, star rating, and remaining time for each Raid. Players can use the map to locate Gyms in their area, with the Gyms changing colors based on which Pokemon GO team currently controls the location. The online map also shows locations for scheduled Pokemon GO meetups, allowing fans to quickly and easily find other players in the community.

Pokemon GO‘s new Raid map looks to be a helpful resource for players tracking Raids in their local area. The full map allows fans to track a wider range than Pokemon GO‘s current in-game view offers, with players able to find specific Raids that may be farther away. The Gym tracker could also help Pokemon GO players to find places to either take over or leave their Pokemon, though it does not show which Pokemon are currently placed in each Gym. The map highlights locations that have upcoming Super Mega Raids as well, allowing players to prepare for future events.

The helpful new Raid resource looks to be a big help for both longtime and newer Pokemon GO players. Niantic’s Vice President of Product Michael Steranka recently spoke about improving Pokemon GO‘s new and returning player experience, feeling that the game doesn’t have “the right balance.” Steranka suggested that improving the experience for those players will be a “major focus” moving forward, aiming to lower the barrier to entry for Pokemon GO players who may not have played since the game’s release.

Pokemon GO‘s aim to make the game more accessible comes with big things on the horizon. February 28 will kick off the GO Tour: Kalos Global event, adding multiple new Mega Pokemon alongside the debut of Shiny Diancie within the mobile game. Pokemon GO is also gearing up to officially launch its 10th anniversary season as well, with Memories in Motion beginning on March 3 and bringing daily events throughout the season. Pokemon GO looks to have plenty of exciting updates planned as the game rings in its 10th anniversary, while the franchise as a whole begins its celebration of 30 years of Pokemon.
