Pokemon GO Halloween Event Officially Confirms Exclusive New Pokemon Debut

Pokemon GO revealed all the new details regarding its annual Halloween event, including the debut of exclusive Pokemon, rewards, and other special bonuses. As a free-to-play live service game on mobile, Pokemon GO is no stranger to offering limited-time events to players. The Halloween event in particular has become an annual staple, typically offering players countless ways to get their hands on Dark and Ghost types.

2026 has been a special year so far for the popular mobile title, as Pokemon GO celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year. Players have been the beneficiary of these celebrations, with plenty of special events taking place, including the arrival of Mewtwo in New York City’s Time Square this past Summer. Alongside these events, Pokemon GO continues to roll out new seasonal content, with Twilight Trails also bringing back the fan favorite Halloween event later in October and into November.

Pokemon GO Update Will Protect Your Best Pokemon

A new update for Pokemon GO makes a change that will help to protect trainers’ rarest and best Pokemon from a disaster many players have faced.

Pokemon GO Halloween Event Start Date and Details

  • Part 1: October 27–November 1
  • Part 2: November 1–5

The 2026 edition of Pokemon GO‘s Halloween event is going to feature plenty of spooky bonuses for players. As expected, when the event begins, the nighttime music in Pokemon GO shifts to Lavender Town’s theme, following a lengthy tradition that the game has followed for years now. Alongside the decorated PokeStops, encounter screen, and Gyms, players will also be enjoying a number of bonuses through the event’s GO Pass as well as special themed Field Research Tasks to complete as well.

However, for many, the biggest draw of these limited-time events are new Pokemon and Scopely is delivering with 4 debuts. Three new costumed Pokemon will be spawning during the Halloween Event, including a Pikachu wearing a pancake-inspired hat and capelet, a top hat wearing Zubat, and a Sinistea with a Driftloon bow-tie. These costumed Pokemon will also be featured in one-star raids, and if players are lucky, they may find their shiny forms. Speaking of, the last pocket monster making their debut during the Halloween event is the shiny form of Greavard, a ghost type that made its debut during the 2023 Halloween event in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO will also have new shop items for players who want a bit more, including “Gothic” avatar clothing items. There are also a selection of new Halloween-themed stickers that can be purchased or found in-game by spinning PokeStops or opening gifts. The GO Pass Deluxe also includes Patissier avatar clothing, additional special encounters, and Rare Candy XL. Finally, players will likely notice items scattered around Pokemom GO‘s map. Tapping on these items will reward players with a random bonus such as an encounter with an event-themed Pokemon, rare candy, and more.

The final piece to Pokemon GO‘s 2026 Halloween Event involves Sableye. Starting with the second part of the Halloween Event, players will be able to take advantage of the Super Max Level system in Pokemon GO by increasing Sableye’s Mega Level to learn the NIght Shade+ Charged Attack while being Mega Evolved. The post confirms that the power of this attack increases with the Pokemon’s Mega Level, giving players more incentive to grind for additional levels.
