Pokemon GO Launches New Feature For Players

Pokemon GO Launches New Feature For Players

Niantic announces the addition of a new in-game calendar for Pokemon GO, while also making additional quality of life improvements to the Today View. Even after 10 years, Pokemon GO is continuing on with updates, changes, and new content for players. Alongside seasonal content and limited-time events, Pokemon GO is also continuing to improve the overall in-game experience for players as well.

2026 has already proven to be a big year for the game as Niantic is celebrating Pokemon GO‘s 10th anniversary. The studio has plans for multiple events taking place throughout 2026, alongside new debuts and mega evolutions. Back in March, Niantic kicked off the All Out event in Pokemon GO, which added nearly all Pokemon to wild encounters, with specific biomes giving better odds for discovering certain types. Incense could also spawn a legendary Pokemon as well, making this event one of the biggest that Pokemon GO has ever seen. However, there’s plenty more to look forward to as 2026 rolls on, including some quality of life improvements.

Pokemon GO 10th Anniversary is Adding a Super Rare Pokemon

Pokemon GO just confirmed the bonuses and Pokemon lineup for its upcoming 10th anniversary event, including a very rare Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Adds an In-Game Event Calendar

In a new post on social media, the official Pokemon GO account revealed that it is adding an event calendar to the game. Players will notice a new calendar icon in the lower-right corner of the map screen. Selecting this will open up an events list happening now in-game or coming soon. Players can tap on each event to see more details and there’s even a filter by categories option for those who are looking for something specific. There’s also a Join a Meetup option from here that players can use to RSVP for in-person Meetup events hosted by Community Ambassadors. Previously, the Campfire App was largely necessary for Pokemon GO players to meetup, but now, the game is making it easier.

For those who prefer a bigger version, the Event Calendar can be viewed online via the Events section of the Pokemon GO website. Players can log in with their account credentials to view upcoming events and any Meetups in the area. In addition, players will be able to manage their Meetups from the website as well, which will automatically sync up with the game.

In addition to the Event Calendar, Pokemon GO is also improving its Today View. As many players already know, the Today View in Pokemon GO is a place to track everything from Daily Streaks, Live bonuses, ongoing events and more. Specifically, this more streamlined version will now let players focus on their Field Research, Daily Activities, and GO Passes. Players can scroll and swipe through to track their progress, while the Happening Now section has been moved into the Event Calendar.

This latest addition joins another big recent change for the game. Back in June 2026, Pokemon GO overhauled its PvP Trainer Battle system. Part of the change was made to address potential lag due to connection problems, while also attempting to make battles feel more consistent. Reaction to the update seems to have been largely mixed, with some users reporting that lag was unfortunately still impacting fights.
