Pokemon GO Player Achieves Incredibly Rare Feat After Seven Years
A Pokemon GO player spends seven years hunting an incredibly rare achievement that even several veteran players don’t have.
In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit, user StronglyNeutral reveals an extremely rare catch they had during the Goomy Community Day. Stating that they were hoping to catch a hundo in the title, they reveal a nundo they caught during the event. However, what is even more surprising is that it is not just a regular nundo, but a shiny one, which has even slimmer odds of spawning. In fact, it is the rarest Goomy that can be caught in the game.
Why Are Shnundos So Rare In Pokemon GO?
While hundos are a more commonly used term, many players are not aware of shnundos. For starters, hundos are the perfect Pokemon of a type, meaning they have the best stats possible in the game with a 15/15/15 distribution. If a hundo is shiny as well, then it is known as shundo in Pokemon GO. While one might think that’s possibly the rarest Pokemon to have in the game, the reality is a bit counterintuitive. Instead of the perfect stats being the hardest to find, a Pokemon with the minimum possible distribution is even rarer. Known as nundos, these Pokemon have a distribution of 0/0/0 and they are even more difficult to find as they don’t have the added benefit of weather boosts, lucky trades, and raids, and can only be caught in the wild. Shnundos are their shiny variants, and ultimate rarities.
Players are always excited to see a shnundo, as it is a pretty rare Pokemon to have in Pokemon GO, although it might not be that effective in battles due to its strength. Fans are already suggesting creative names for the Pokemon, with one of the most popular ones being “g000my”, with the three zeros signifying the Pokemon’s IV stats. While the Goomy Community Day was well-received by the fanbase due to the overall rates, this fan’s experience surely has been a unique one.
