Pokemon GO Reveals New Shiny Debut for Upcoming November 2025 Event

Pokemon GO has shared what to expect from the upcoming High Voltage event, revealing that shiny Morpeko will debut in the game. Players will have several ways to attempt to get Morpeko when the High Voltage event begins in Pokemon GO later this November.

2025 has already been a packed year for players, with many critters making their debut through various events. For example, Poltchageist and Sinistcha were recently added during the Halloween 2025 event. Additionally, the Pokemon GO leveling system was revamped in October, introducing new rewards and increasing the Trainer level cap to 80. With the game showing no signs of slowing down, the developer shared a look at a new shiny that players can soon try to add to their collections.

Pokemon GO’s High Voltage Event Adds Shiny Morpeko

As part of the High Voltage event, Pokemon GO will debut shiny Morpeko. The event runs from Tuesday, November 18, at 10:00 am to Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 8:00 pm local time and offers several ways to get the new shiny. Specifically, players can potentially encounter the critter by doing Field Research, paid Timed Research, a Collection Challenge, the GO Battle League, and snapshot encounters. The event will also see some Pokemon appear more often in the wild, including Emolga, Dedenne, and Togedemaru, which have an increased chance of being shiny. Shinx may spawn more frequently as well.

Besides these Pokemon, the High Voltage event will offer a couple of other bonuses. According to the developer, catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better awards double XP, and double Stardust is granted for simply catching Pokemon during the event. Furthermore, a Collection Challenge will offer players the opportunity to earn more of these rewards, along with an encounter with Morpeko. Meanwhile, Field Research tasks reward encounters with several Electric-type Pokemon.

Morpeko In The Pokemon Anime

As the name implies, the High Voltage event gives fans of Electric-type Pokemon the chance to catch some of their favorites. While there is only a shiny debut this time, other events will add even more Pokemon to the augmented reality mobile game. On November 4, the Enchanted Hollow event in Pokemon GO started, adding Tarountula and Spidops for players to collect.

It will be interesting to see what else the game has planned for 2025 and beyond. While Pokemon TCG Pocket has surpassed Pokemon GO in terms of first-year earnings, both mobile games will likely continue to draw fans for the foreseeable future.
