Pokemon GO and LEGO partner up for a new promotion for players, offering both in-store and in-game prizes including exclusive avatar items and the potential for a special Pikachu. It’s been a busy few months for Pokemon GO players, with numerous Go Fest Events taking place, new seasonal content, and the typical limited-time events like Community Day.
There have been plenty of new pocket monsters to discover over the past couple of months as well, including the debut of the incredibly rare Professor Willow’s assistant Pikachu. As part of the limited-time Willow’s Birthday Research event, players had 6 days spanning from July 21 to 27 to capture it. Mewtwo also made its return to the mobile game, including taking over New York CIty’s Times Square for a special event and adding its special Mega Mewtwo X and Y forms to raids as well. The latest crossover event is taking players to real life locations as well, with stops at the LEGO Store.
Pokemon GO x LEGO Event Details
The newest Pokemon GO collaboration has begun following the end of the Go Fest 2026 Summer Events, a special promotion with LEGO for both physical and in-game rewards. Originally kicking off in Copenhagen, LEGO’s home location, the event has gone live across locations in the U.S., Europe and Australia running from August 3 through September 30. Over 200 LEGO stores are hosting all-day 1-Star raids with a LEGO-background Pikachu as well as special Sponsored PokeStops. In addition, players can unlock exclusive Avatar items by visiting a participating store and opening Pokemon GO. Doing so will unlock event-themed Timed-Research awarding a LEGO-branded jacket. Quests include objectives like exploring 1KM, spinning 10 PokeStops, and more.

During the event, players can also take part in the Stamp Rally event. Visiting a participating store and spinning the sponsored PokeStop will award in-game LEGO Pokemon stickers, which opens a new section of the Pokemon GO scrapbook to mark the occasion. After collecting the stamp, players will encounter a special LEGO-themed background Pikachu, which also has a stamp icon above it to help it stand out.

The promotion is coming at a great time for both Pokemon and LEGO, as the two IPs have already had a big 2026 so far. At the start of the year, LEGO introduced a multi-year partnership with The Pokemon Company which has not only seen new collectible sets, but also the debut of Smart Play compatible kits. On August 1, 17 new Pokemon LEGO sets were revealed, many of which are Smart Play enabled.
For those unaware, LEGO Smart Play adds new immersive features to a typical kit through features like Smart Bricks, Smart Tags, and Smart Minifigures. The SMart Brick utilizes a chip that includes sound and light sensors, a mini-speaker, and an accelerometer, reacting to how players build and play. In terms of Pokemon sets, the Smart Brick can react to a variety of things, playing music during battles, reacting to battle or other actions with sound effects, and more. Better yet, the Smart Bricks can be recharged with a USB-C charging cable or the included Smart Charger device in all-in-one sets.
