Pokemon Pokopia Fan Builds Fully Functional Subway System

A Pokemon Pokopia player built a fully operational subway system in the depths of Rocky Ridges, impressing the community with their attention to detail. Since its launch in early March, Pokemon Pokopia has become a hit among fans of the cozy life-sim genre. The game sold over 2.2 million copies within four days and even turned into one of the highest-rated Pokemon titles of all time. One of Pokemon Pokopia‘s main attractions is the ability to build virtually anything players can imagine, using only their creativity and ingenuity.

Soon after they finish their first day, players will find out that there are many things to do in Pokemon Pokopia, such as completing Important Requests or visiting Dream Islands. Players can also spend their time building and decorating their worlds using crafting recipes and unique Pokemon moves. Although Pokemon Pokopia offers pre-built kits for players to use, some fans opt to fabricate incredible scenery from scratch. Many players find inspiration from real life for their builds, as did one particular gamer who cleverly designed their own underground transportation system.

Shiny Pokemon, evolutions, multiplayer, Switch 1 compatibility, and many more Pokopia questions answered.

Pokemon Pokopia Player Builds Operational Rocky Ridges Subway System

Pokemon Pokopia fan Anko_Aniki shared their fully functional subway system with the game’s Reddit community. In their video, the player can be seen going downstairs to enter the white-tiled underground station located in the Rocky Ridges area. In full subway style, the site has automatic sliding turnstiles that control pedestrian flow. The station also has vending machines, TV screens, information machines, and posters mimicking advertisements. To tie in the subway experience, the player added a railway track system. What is even more impressive is that the subway system leads to the hidden museum in Pokemon Pokopia‘s Rocky Ridges. The video currently sits at over 7K upvotes, and fellow players have praised the original poster for their resourcefulness.

Aside from adding the subway system, the player turned the volcanic area into a hot springs district. The post sees incredibly tall buildings inspired by Japanese onsen inns. It is worth noting that Rocky Ridges is one of the best spots to find hot spring water in Pokemon Pokopia, which can be used to create steamy baths. Anko_Aniki explained how Rocky Ridges was actually their least favorite area in Pokemon Pokopia. In their opinion, it felt “claustrophobic, messy with all the ash and rock.” However, this became all the more reason for them to work harder on it. Now, their Rocky Ridges museum is conveniently connected to the town center through a subway.

There are many reasons for players to explore Rocky Ridges in Pokemon Pokopia. In addition to the secret museum, the habitat lets players find area-exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia that enjoy hot environments. One of these creatures is the Legendary Volcanion. Similar to Mew, Kyogre, and other Mythical or Legendary Pokemon, Volcanion cannot be befriended in the traditional sense, so players will have to complete a series of missions first. On the other hand, players should also turn to Rocky Ridges to obtain the crafting recipe for Railways. This way, fans can build their own transportation system for their befriended Pokemon.

It has been less than a month since Pokemon Pokopia was launched, but the spin-off title has already proven quite successful. For example, in just two days, Pokemon Pokopia brought Nintendo stock up by 15%. The game also launched its first limited in-game event, letting players befriend Hoppip’s evolutionary line in the Withered Wasteland. The event is set to end on March 25. The development team has also pledged to continue improving Pokemon Pokopia post launch, so there is a chance that more events could be held throughout 2026.
