Pokémon Pokopia; How To Skip Building Waiting Times

Pokémon Pokopia; How To Skip Building Waiting Times

Pokémon Pokopia is out today, and the cozy life sim lets you build houses and other structures as you terraform a desolate wasteland into a livable home for Pokémon. If you’re building a home, you’ll have to gather supplies, find Pokémon who can help you, and then wait an allotted real-world time for your friends to finish the job. If you’re like me, someone who is very impatient and doesn’t like to wait for work to be done, there is a way to skip to the completed construction whenever you want.

When you start building something in Pokopia, your Pokémon friends will tell you roughly what time they’ll be done. Smaller structures are usually around a few minutes, but you can skip the wait by going into your Switch 2’s system settings and changing the internal clock. Go to System Settings and scroll down to System, and on this screen you’ll see Date and Time. On this menu, you can turn off the internet-based synchronization that keeps your clock accurate, which will allow you to move the clock up and down to your liking, thus immediately skipping to the moment when construction is complete. If you want to be thorough, you could also just disconnect your Switch 2 from the internet, but doing this will lock you out of online features like multiplayer and uploading screenshots.

In the early segments of Pokopia, you’ll have plenty to do to keep you busy while building houses and other buildings, but I expect that when folks get to some of the higher-level projects, the construction time will only get longer, and you’ll want to jump right into decorating or starting on another complimentary project. So this is an easy way to expedite the process. There doesn’t appear to be any sort of penalty or consequence to doing this, so you don’t need to worry about the Pokopia equivalent of Animal Crossing’s Resetti showing up and scolding you.
