Santa Cruz has revealed a set of skateboard decks inspired by three decades of the Pokemon TCG. Debuting in 1996, the Pokemon TCG has been a staple of the Pokemon franchise since its earliest days. The cards helped cement the popularity of Pokemon, giving fans another way to obtain their favorites and battle with other players. The earliest cards remain some of the most popular among fans, especially those based on characters like Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise.

Pokemon skateboards have existed for a while, but Santa Cruz is doing something unique with its new line based on the Pokemon TCG. The company is attempting to replicate the experience of opening a pack of cards with their new skateboard decks, which come in a blind bag. The bags are randomized, with 30 deck designs and three chase variants. The decks feature some of the most iconic cards in the franchise, spanning the Pokemon TCG‘s 30-year history, from early favorites like Base Set Charizard, to more recent cards like Iono’s Bellibolt ex.
